We had the good fortune of connecting with Yung Boss Crook and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yung Boss, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic or creative career because I want to do what I love and be paid to do it. It just so happens that I’m good at it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My music, my brand is a product of thinking outside the box. What sets it apart from others is my commitment to making timeless music and staying true to myself. My flow fits me, my lyrics fit me. I’m not trying to be something I’m not but I am exactly who I say I am. I got here through hard work and building relationships throughout the years. No it wasn’t easy and sometimes I had doubts on whether this dream was a worth it but I’m a persistent person. I overcame challenges by focusing my energies on solutions and not complaining, and making excuses. I’ve learned a lot over the years. I’ve learned more about myself the most. I learned its better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one than have an opportunity and not be prepared. I learned that money is a tool that a man should use to create actual wealth. I’ve learned about digital marketing, production, mixing and mastering, graphic designs, videography, and LLCs. I’ve taken the time to read and really soak up knowledge. I’ve learned that relationships matter in this industry. I’ve learned too much to even quantify. But what lesson I learned that really matters the most…..Live life like nobodies coming to help you,….best to learn how to swim or you’ll drowned. I want people to know that my brand is solid, I’m solid and everything coming out of “SôS Factory” is quality merchandise.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live in L.A. now so we definitely gots to hit the beach. The Hollywood strip. Disneyland is must and you gotta hit up the dispenseries for that top flight. But in Dallas, the night life is where its at. Just head downtown and head to the nearest club. XTC is where its at. Renuion Tower is a nice place to eat. Hit up the state far in the fall if you ever in my hometown.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
