I chose to pursue an artistic career in my photography/videography work because I have a deep love for documenting the space around me and the little moments that happen in my everyday life. I am constantly reminded of the beauty and the contradiction of my environment, and I am able to express who I am through this interaction with my space. I grew up in a military family and never had much in the way of consistency. I never knew when I was moving, how long I would be there, or where I would end up. I didn’t always have a lot of friends, so I found my comfort in films. I fell in love with cinema so much that all I ever wanted to do was make movies. Read more>>
So I moved into the creative space due to a multitude of factors. This includes the personal dynamic of work vs. creative enjoyment, the ability to work “when I want” or can, and that I feel fulfilled by activities that bring me joy, but also pay me. I Pursued being a Body Piercer for a long time before i was. I knew very early in life that a desk job or 9 to 5 was not for me. I dreaded going to those jobs. I hated having a uniform or thinking this asshole is going to tell me how to dress and talk to people. I was a skateboarder and a local punk kid in Phoenix trying to survive. I found friends at the tattoo studio that shared the same interest. Art and music was very important to me. Read more>>
Growing up my dad was in the creative industry and naturally I gravitated towards it. My father is a photographer as well as an artist and graphic artist. I had the natural ability to draw and paint so that was my passion for years.
