Nikki McAvity | Founder & Design Director, Robot Bunnies

I grew up in New York City with a Mom who was an editor at various women’s magazines and then a beauty-industry copy writer. Through her, I was exposed early to a world of creative talent that included art directors, designers, stylists and makeup artists. I was also fortunate to see many amazing art exhibits in NYC as a child and adult. Ultimately, I developed a reverence for creative people and their work. Later, I worked in the beauty and fashion industries myself, as a publicist. There, I continued to interact with creative talent of all stripes including my own clients, who were often talented entrepreneurs, passionate about the goods they were producing and selling. All of this background inspired me to want to do the same i.e. build a business based on my own creative interests and talents. I can honestly see no higher calling. I take great pride in the creative joy and meticulous construction of the goods we sell at Robot Bunnies and love that we get to interact with our customers and hear how our items enhance their day-to-day lives. I started to think that maybe I could turn my passion into something more. And that’s when I created Audrey’s Artistry Shop. Read more>>

Megan Jarvis | Owner & Creator of The Jarvis Home

One of my favorite quotes states “The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul” – Dieter F Uchtdorf. I believe everyone has a desire to create, we all just find different ways to fulfill that desire. By education, I am a nurse. I take care of children who are often extremely sick. I love what I do, but it can be very mentally and physically draining. I often have to sort through the emotions that come with seeing children die. My small business is one of the ways that I am able to cope with the stresses of my job. I love creating things of beauty out of ordinary items. For me, that means woodworking and making homemade jams and jellies. When I build and make things, I love to put my headphones in and just loose myself in the creation. Read more>>
