We had the good fortune of connecting with Kwame Samuel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kwame, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I go with the feeling, I also try to be as realistic as possible. Asking myself questions like, is this going to work? is it working? Is it worth it? Then I try to make a calculation in my head do some thinking then go from there.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Well I’m a Rapper/Singer/Producer I like call my singing crooning cause it’s not no Usher or Micheal type of vocal range. Once you listen to what I’m talking about and start like my soulful melodies, the music just kinda grows on you. I think what sets me apart is that I’m willing to work harder than everybody, don’t want to sound like I’m bragging but I’ve yet to meet someone that outworked me, never once. I’ve been doing music since I was a teen, I grew up around it, everybody in my family was doing it. It was almost for certain I would be involve right away. To come from where I came from and say, Hey! I made it in music ! Is something crazy, I wouldn’t say I made it yet but I sure did came a long way from home. The word easy doesn’t really exist around anything I’ve done so far, I mean it took me a lot of years I had to start over a bunch of times and move from city to find a foundation that was sturdy. When I started educating myself, becoming more of a student and just absorbing knowledge, everything changed professionally. What I want people to know is that to overcome loss, grief, failure, doubt and all the things that make life seem hopeless, is to always have love not just like love for your partner. But love aver all. When you have love in heart, it like you just get regenerate no matter how much you go through. Thats how I survived.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I like nature and history so maybe to the museum or the Grand Canyon. A lot of great bars and pubs downtown if we wanted to get crazy and go bar hopping on Rosevelt Row a lot of fun people there. I’m not really so much an out and about person so I wouldn’t know all the hot spots. to keep it 100 I think hiking and checking out land scape is pretty fascinating. Thats what me and my friends doing on a Week trip. We’re going to the mountains, we checking out the museums and we might stop for Mexican food at a food truck, Tacos for everybody. Haha!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would say shout out to the believer, the person that actually want to see me to win. There’s a book that did change my mind set “Rich dad poor dad” by Robert Kiyosaki . iTs a game changer, if your looking to see life different thats definitely a good one.
