We had the good fortune of connecting with Renita Fortson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renita, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
What’s so ironic is I’ve always been an influencer long before “influencing” was a title and social media made it a big thing. Since I can remember I’ve been the one my friends would say, “Wow Renita! You’re really manifesting what you want in life. It’s such an inspiration!! I’m watching you and taking notes.” My power of influence is magnetic because I’m authentic. My goal isn’t to mimic or impersonate anybody else’s accomplishments. I have my own. Through my own passion for cultivating a refined elevated lifestyle for myself I’ve managed to inadvertently inspire so many other women along their personal journey. So What Renita Said® is my way of saying, “Hey ladies, you can level up too! Here’s what I did!”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I’m most excited about for What Renita Said® is growing my professional network here in Arizona. As a newcomer in 2021 I promised myself that once I got settled I’d really put forth intentional effort to build my community and connect with other women and organizations that resonated with my brand. As far as what I’m most proud of, I’d say I’m proud of the direction What Renita Said® is moving in. Identifying yourself as a brand can be difficult sometimes but when you’re clear and HOW you want to show up, it makes decision making easier. There are so many great lifestyle brands who’s followers connect with their message and that’s exactly what I’m building for What Renita Said®. I’m attracting the women who are ready to take hold of their destiny, elevate, grow, connect, and curate the life they’ve always dreamed of!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I actually have a couple of girlfriends coming in town from Texas in April for a few days and I have a great itinerary lined up! Seeing that I am the ultimate Social Butterfly and LifeStylist we are starting with lunch at the English Rose Tea Room in Carefree, AZ followed by music in the garden at Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix. We’ll also do some shopping at Fashion Square Mall, pampering at Sanctuary Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, art perusing at SMOCA (Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art), Candlelight Concert at Phoenix Zoo, and lastly dinner at Steak44!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Spiritual mentors like: Abraham Hicks & Bob Proctor started me along my self empowerment & personal development path. Their teachings of the Law of Attraction supported me tremendously in writing my own book, Master Your Mind & Take Control of Your Life. I have to also give a huge shoutout to my favorite books: Think & Grow Rich, The Secret, Let That Sh*t Go, and The Alchemist. These four literary masterpieces truly taught me the power of manifesting, being kind to myself, and elevating my thoughts to change the world around me!
