We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Pantano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Frank, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk is essential to any new business. In order to grow as a company you have got to look past your current position on the totem pole. Where am I at? Where am I going? In my experience, growth comes from putting yourself into uncomfortable situations, like making yourself available for a job you may not be completely confident in yourself to do. Taking less pay and more work may seem like the wrong idea but from what I have learned, it has allowed myself and my business to be in a room where it is OK to make mistakes and learn from them too.

Please tell us more about your career. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Of course it isn’t easy, and as an artist and a creative person, I thrive on various challenges and overcoming those challenges, even if they only exist in my own mind. For me, the art is when I am able to put myself out there completely and fully participate while being completely open. I am inspired by the idea of living my own art and taking risks in the name of creative thinking. I have always marched to the beat of my own drum, and that is precisely how I got to where I am at today. I could’ve done other things but I choose passion. I prefer the challenging road. I am drawn to it. Perhaps like other people are more drawn to safer path. This is what I am constantly learning about myself. Be true to your heart. That is the biggest lesson I will always learn. Career wise, and for a long time, I was denying myself the ability to create because of what I “thought” I should be doing “when I became an adult”. Which was get any entry level version of a 9 to 5, and give it my all. Wow, how wrong I was. And this is the lesson I would share, be true to your heart. In my heart, I wasn’t ever going to be fulfilled, and I knew that then too. But society, your parents, etc blah blah- So, the hard way, I had learned, many times over- that no matter how hard I worked, nothing took away from what I knew in my gut. I was in the wrong room. That that way of thinking and going about that type of life weren’t and won’t ever be for me, and that even that isn’t even up to me. I am who I am and what I need is room to create and tell incredible stories. Forward ever, backward never.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Arizona has some amazing natural resources and various rivers and lakes to check out, up north near the Mogollon Rim has always been a special place for our family. 7000ft x SWST. Boyce Thompson Arboretum, Riparian Preserve, Butcher Jones- Anywhere along the Salt River is cool to hang out: Phon D. Sutton, Blue Point, Coon’s Bluff. Cat and I made a pretty crazy drive all the way through the Four Peaks Wilderness recently which was a blast, I love you babe. One place we loved visiting was Kartchner Caverns, the story of how they were discovered is incredibly cool. Roosevelt Lake can be a blast and just up North a little. Goldfield Ghost Town out near the Superstition Mountain area is a lot of fun.
