We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeffrey Bump and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeffrey, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I just really believe everyone should have some kind of creative outlet that they have control of. It doesn’t have to be traditional art, it could be exercise or any type of hobby. I think that it is important to have one thing that you “own” and don’t have to compromise.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our band, Mill’s End has been a part of the Phoenix music scene for over 10 years. We love creating original music and really have no grand expectation of it. We have written and performed songs that really reflect the music that we love and have grown up with. Playing in a music scene isn’t always easy but we really just consider ourselves lucky that we still get to do it. As a musician you always want to get better and move forward in your sound and we feel that we continue to do that. The bottom line is that it still is fun and it is a really healthy thing for us to be involved in. There is a ton of great music out there and we are really proud to be a part of this scene and call many of the bands friends.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think Roosevelt Row and the surrounding area is really the place to be in Phoenix. There are great restaurants, art galleries and live music venues (whenever that happens again) to see. The businesses are independently owned and really reflect the spirit of the community. I also love the scenery here, I love to hike and there are tons of great trails to visit.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The guys in the band really make the music and creation so great. It’s so fun to create with them and do shows. Also, my kids really inspire me every day to be my best.
