We had the good fortune of connecting with Elley Ringo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elley, how do you think about risk?
Risk and taking risk can mean so many things. For me, it meant making thought out calculated decisions while I was working for a huge company so I could set myself up to eventually start my own business. without making those thoughtful decisions early on I could not have created the base from which I jumped from. Once I thought I had a solid enough base, I took the biggest risk of all to bet on myself. It’s been the best risk that I’ve taken. The hard work and long hours that I’ve put In we’re worth it. And now years later, it is really starting to pay off.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I first started my business of ElleyKnowsRocks. I thought there is no way I’m going to be able to make this work. I was passionate about what I was doing but I had no idea how to do it. And I was so nervous that everybody that saw me put myself out there on social media for it with judge me immediately. And there was a lot of judgment, but I got over it. Even though they still hurt, I’ve learned to ignore the rude and cruel comments. But my brand took off on TikTok and YouTube as a Geology Contant creator. I had no idea that I would be able to influence so many people with my enthusiasm about minerals as I have. I’ve balanced this out with my acting career. And it’s been difficult to overcome the naysayers that tell me, I can’t be an actress and a geologist. You can’t mix pretty with rocks. At that point, I just smile and wave lol I believe in myself, and I know there are so many other people that appreciate what I do and believe in me that it gives me the drive to keep going.
I truly believe if you put your mind to some thing and each day you take a step forward you’ll make your dreams come true.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love where I live. And I spend a lot of time in between places. But my favorite place is Lake Havasu city, Arizona, And if my friend came to visit me. One of the first things we would do is take a picnic lunch and a hike through the slot canyon in at SARA Park. It’s about a 5 mile round-trip through the canyon and to the lake and back. Next we would go out to dinner at College Street. The maker of my favorite beer “big blue van” On the next day we would go out boating, just hang out and chill. At some point we would go to Locos one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants.
We would go Rockhound near Saddlemountain i’m just outside of Tonopah, we might go check out the huge gem and mineral shop in Quartzsite.
Maybe go catch a play at Desert stages theater in Scottsdale. I just went and saw Rent there. They did a great job!
There’s so many places to see in so many things to do it so hard for me to put my finger on just a couple 🙂

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people that believed in me before I believed in myself. Dan, Danni, Asisa, Mom and Dad, Dave, Summer, Alexis, and all of my friends who thought I could be somebody before I was, they know who they are. And I especially thank everyone who told me, I couldn’t, who told me I wasn’t good enough, and who told me I would never become anything. Sometimes it’s not just a positive that drives you but also the want to prove the negative wrong. I don’t really believe in luck I believe that we create our own journey, and through a lot hard work, sacrifice with blood, sweat and tears with the help and support From the love and encouragement of others. We can create our best life, and make our dreams come true.
