We had the good fortune of connecting with Alfred Trujillo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alfred, can you tell us about an impactful book you’ve read and why you liked it or what impact it had on you?
The comic book industry is going through a massive change and independent comics have definitely come into the forefront in a time when corporate comics have taken a step back. Happy to be here for the fans!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think one of the most important things in making art is to always try to learn new things and apply them to your art and projects. It is never a competition with other artists but one with yourself. There will be mistakes, if you can, fix them, if not make sure its improved next time out. The only real danger is stagnating, so take the time to study, practice and analyze art you admire.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m partial to Westgate as it’s the only thing on the west side and its pretty nice overall.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Huge shoutout to my wife Cara Nicole who has been with me every step of the way and has been a huge part of my success.
