We had the good fortune of connecting with Angel Perea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business is not only a personal goal, but also a way for me to serve my community. I strongly believe that massage, corrective exercising, and Neurotraining are not just luxuries, but vital aspects of a healthier and happier life. By offering massage therapy, corrective exercising, and Neurotraining services, I can contribute to the well-being of my community in a comprehensive way. These services have numerous physical and mental health benefits, such as alleviating stress, reducing muscle tension, improving posture, enhancing mobility, and promoting neurological function. They are powerful tools that can enhance overall wellness and help individuals lead more fulfilling lives. Through my business, I aim to provide accessible and effective massage therapy, corrective exercising, and Neurotraining services, enabling people to prioritize their health and well-being.

What should our readers know about your business?
One of the aspects that distinguishes me from others is my ability to adapt and grow. In Arizona alone, there are approximately 12,000 licensed massage therapists. However, what sets me apart is my commitment to continuous education. I believe in constantly seeking knowledge and implementing the approaches that work best for me. This dedication allows me to continuously refine and enhance my skills.

When it comes to standing out, I prioritize spreading Aloha and living Pono. These principles shape my bedside manner and the way I run my private practice. I take the time to thoroughly understand each individual’s needs and concerns. By conducting a comprehensive assessment, I am able to develop a personalized treatment plan that caters to their specific requirements. Throughout the process, I consistently reassess and adjust my approach to ensure the best possible outcome. Additionally, I go the extra mile by providing corrective exercises or movements after the massage session. My goal is to meet people where they are and provide them with the most effective care possible.

I firmly believe that massage therapy plays a vital role in our healthcare system. Overcoming diversity has been one of my biggest challenges. As a male therapist in an industry predominantly dominated by female therapists, I have encountered patients who initially hesitated to work with me. However, I have addressed their concerns by offering a 30-minute session where they have nothing to lose. If there is no improvement, their session is free. However, if I do succeed in improving their range of motion or reducing their pain, they happily pay for the session and even book their next appointment. The feedback I often receive is that I have Angel hands or that I am a “mad scientist” with my tools and techniques.

By consistently evolving, providing individualized care, and embracing diversity, I strive to make a positive impact in the field of massage therapy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to my best friend and wife, Rosie, as well as my children. Their unwavering support and love have been the driving force behind my desire to become the best father, husband, and person I can be.

Next, I am deeply thankful to my ‘Ohana (family) for the abundant love, guidance, and wisdom they have bestowed upon me. I humbly acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices they have made, allowing me to become the person I am today.

Additionally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to every teacher and instructor who has generously shared their knowledge with me. The invaluable lessons I have learned from them have greatly influenced my private practice.

Last but certainly not least, I am incredibly grateful to every individual and family who has placed their trust in me to care for their health and well-being. It is a privilege and honor to be entrusted with such an important responsibility.

I am truly blessed to have such a strong support system and the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
