Meet Melissa Argomaniz | Marketing Coordinator and Independent Contractor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Argomaniz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Melissa, how do you think about risk?
To me, risk is something you only truly understand by taking the leap. Life is fundamentally a series of trials and errors, through which we learn and grow. Opportunities are abundant, but it’s how we react and respond to them that makes all the difference. Failure, often viewed negatively, is actually a valuable opportunity in disguise. It’s all about perspective. I believe in getting up, trying again, and shaking off setbacks with renewed determination.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been an independent contractor in life insurance for five years, and over the past year, I’ve ventured into marketing with Semper Fi Heating and Cooling. As a single mother, transitioning from my role as a dental assistant to starting my own business in life insurance was daunting. I was tired of living paycheck to paycheck and struggling to provide for my son.

Initially, success was elusive—I had to make three attempts to pass my licensing exam. Even after becoming licensed, I faced the challenge of learning how to sell and understand the products in a high-pressure, commission-based environment. Over time, I honed my skills and was able to build a comfortable living.

Then, about a year ago, I discovered Semper Fi Heating and Cooling. I never imagined I’d find myself in the HVAC industry, but when I saw an opening for a marketing coordinator, I decided to apply out of curiosity. I was drawn to the company’s strong values and positive culture. Since joining, I’ve been part of a dynamic marketing team that’s making waves in the industry. The company fosters creativity, plays to individual strengths, and offers exceptional leadership.

Balancing both careers, I thrive on the hustle and am grateful for the opportunities and growth they’ve provided.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As a huge Diamondbacks fan, I would love to take them to a game and explore the vibrant downtown area. With its plethora of eateries and great hangout spots, it’s the perfect place to enjoy the game and soak up the local atmosphere.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My son is my everything and my driving force in life. I want him to understand that with determination, he can achieve anything he sets his mind to. I feel incredibly blessed to have such a loving family and supportive friends. Their unwavering presence and encouragement are what truly keep me going.
