Meet Isabella Paris | Singer-Songwriter

We had the good fortune of connecting with Isabella Paris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Isabella, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic/creative career because it is something that has always seemed to call to me. As a kid I grew up with a lot of music influences… primarily from my father and how much he loved music. He always told me there was a way to be who I wanted to be as long as I pushed myself and strove to be the best everyday. I love music, it brings me a joy, a comfort, an outlet. I know that so many people can relate and for me it’s just the biggest part of my identity.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is music, I create and write music that speaks mostly on mental health issues and things that bring the soul pain. Like many artists surrounding me… I am a sad songwriter girlie haha! I feel like my art is special in a way where I kind of combine the anger and pain with the sad… my music tends to sound super sad but in a way it’s also a little bit gory. I am super excited about finally being in the recording stages of music, it has been a long time coming and I have been so apprehensive, intimidated by the idea of producing my music. It has never been my strong suit but I am so excited to go into the realm of production and mixing!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am living currently in Boston Massachusetts for college! I actually see my boyfriend frequently here in the city because I am always begging him to visit me (haha)! Honestly when he visited I took him to see Museums, Cafes, and some outside places. We went to the Boston Commons, Fenway Gardens, Gong cha (which is the best boba place ever), we went to the MFA, the Isabella Stewart Gardener museum (which I actually get to go in for free because of my legal name!), and we just spent time around the area. We also ate Gordon Ramsays Kitchen which really lived up to it’s hype! As well as this really good brunch place on Boylston called Cafe Landwer! There is also Tatte which is right beside berklee campus and they have really good breakfast sandwiches and coffee! I personally haven’t done much exploring since most of my time in Boston is “grind time” because of school, work, and gigs but I do think when he comes to Boston I have more fun going out!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say that really my family, boyfriend, and friends have done so much for me. It is so hard to thank one person really because everyone got me to the place I am today. However, I know that I wouldn’t have this love and passion and drive if it weren’t for my father in the back of my mind to keep pushing, keep going, that he believes in me when nobody else did.
