We had the good fortune of connecting with Allan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Allan, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The main reason I started Valley Care Clinic was to give our community access to high-quality healthcare that is truly affordable—without ever cutting corners on care or time spent with patients.Throughout my career working in Internal Medicine, Urgent Care, and retail health clinics, I saw the same problem everywhere: providers were under constant pressure to see patients as quickly as possible. There simply wasn’t enough time to truly listen, address all of a patient’s concerns, and deliver the thoughtful care they deserved. On top of that, corporate settings often had rigid pricing structures that made care especially expensive for uninsured patients.I wanted to build a different kind of clinic—one where patients aren’t rushed through their visit and where quality care doesn’t come with an unaffordable price tag. At Valley Care Clinic, we deliberately structure our appointments so we can spend the necessary time with each person while keeping our services accessible and fairly priced. For me, it was never just about opening another clinic. It was about creating a place where patients feel heard, respected, and cared for—regardless of their insurance status.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Valley Care Clinic was founded with a clear mission: to provide high-quality, compassionate healthcare that is truly affordable and accessible — especially for uninsured and underinsured patients in our community. What sets us apart is simple but powerful. We give patients the one thing many clinics no longer do — time. We take the time to listen, explain conditions and test results in detail, and treat every patient like family. Our visits are not rushed. You’ll often leave with a better understanding of your health, and yes, many patients leave smiling or laughing because we genuinely enjoy connecting with them. The feedback and online reviews reflect this — our patients consistently mention how caring, thorough, and approachable we are.I’m most proud of the culture we’ve built. Our providers are deeply committed and always willing to go above and beyond. Whether it’s coordinating specialist care, answering questions after hours, or making sure patients feel supported, we truly care about outcomes and relationships.

The Journey:
Getting here wasn’t easy — opening a medical practice from the ground up is definitely not for the faint of heart. It demanded long hours, enormous commitment, patience, and courage, especially while navigating the constantly changing healthcare landscape. There were plenty of challenges, but we stayed focused on our vision.

Lessons Learned:
The biggest lessons I’ve learned are to trust the process, stay patient, and remain consistent. If you truly believe in the service you’re providing and deliver excellent, compassionate care, the right patients will find you and stay with you.

What I want the world to know:
We want everyone to know that at Valley Care Clinic, our providers are here for you. We are caring, committed, and ready to help. We will go the extra mile to take care of you and coordinate your care whenever needed. Whether you have insurance or not, you will be treated with respect, dignity, and genuine concern for your well-being.

Thank you for letting me share our story.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit, I’d make sure they experienced the best of Arizona’s Valley and beyond!Since I’m based in the East Valley (Tempe area), I’d build a fun, balanced week that mixes great music, incredible nature, amazing local food, and the unique energy of the desert.

Day 1–2: Phoenix & Tempe Vibes (Arrival & Local Flavor)Welcome dinner at a local favorite small business restaurant — I love supporting places like the hidden gems in downtown Tempe or Mill Avenue spots with great atmosphere and fresh food.
Evening: Live music! I’m a big jazz and Broadway fan, so we’d head to The Nash in downtown Phoenix, Arizona’s top jazz club. Nothing beats live jazz in an intimate setting.

Day 3–4: Sedona Adventure (My Absolute Favorite)Early morning drive up to Sedona (only about 2 hours from the Valley). The red rocks never get old.
We’d hike in places like Cathedral Rock or Bell Rock, do a Jeep tour, or simply sit and take in the breathtaking views. Sedona’s energy is something special — perfect for recharging.
Evenings: Relax with a good meal at one of Sedona’s many excellent local restaurants. I always prefer supporting small, independent spots with character.

Day 5–6: More Music, Culture & Valley HighlightsCatch a Broadway-style show or musical if one is playing at the Orpheum Theatre or other Valley venues.
Explore downtown Phoenix — Roosevelt Row for street art, unique shops, and more live music.
Food-wise, we’d hit as many small local eateries as possible — from family-owned Mexican spots to cozy brunch places and hidden barbecue joints. I get excited supporting the hard-working local business owners in our community.

Day 7: Chill & ReflectRelaxed day in Tempe — maybe a hike at Papago Park or Tempe Town Lake, followed by a great meal and live music to cap off the trip.

What makes this area special? The combination of big-city culture with easy access to world-class nature. You can enjoy incredible jazz one night and be surrounded by stunning red rocks the next morning. I also love the people here — friendly, hardworking, and full of community spirit. It’s the perfect mix of fun, food, music, and adventure. By the end of the week, my friend would leave understanding why I love calling the Valley home and why I’m so passionate about serving this community through Valley Care Clinic.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m truly grateful for this question because none of this would have been possible without the incredible people around me.First and foremost, I want to shout out my family. I’m incredibly fortunate to have a wife who has been my biggest supporter from day one. She deeply understands the need in our community and has always believed in my vision, even when it meant sacrificing our time together. My children also deserve a big shoutout — they’ve shown so much understanding and patience with my passion for this work, even when it kept me away from home more than I would have liked. Their love and support keep me grounded and motivated.I also have to give a huge thank you to my business partner, Wilfredo. I genuinely could not have started Valley Care Clinic without him. He is an outstanding practitioner, and our patients absolutely love him — you can see it in every one of our reviews. His skill, dedication, and partnership have been instrumental to everything we’ve built.I’m also deeply grateful to my mentors who generously shared their business knowledge and gave me the confidence to take this leap and start my own practice. And finally — and most importantly — this shoutout belongs to our patients and clients. They are the heart of our business. Their trust, support, and loyalty are what make all the hard work worthwhile. Without them, Valley Care Clinic simply wouldn’t exist. Every day, they remind us why we do what we do.Thank you all — from the bottom of my heart.
