We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Reynolds and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
From a young age, the idea of self-employment influenced my upbringing and early experiences. Growing up in a polygamist cult and looking at the women in my life, I knew I didn’t want to be like them. For most of my childhood, my father was self-employed, which intrigued me as I grew older. As a professional bookkeeper, he handled my taxes during my college years. He instilled in me the importance of self-employment income for financial stability and the tax benefits it provides. This conversation sparked my interest in entrepreneurship and laid the foundation for my career path.

In my early twenties, I began exploring opportunities as an independent contractor, allowing me to cultivate my skills and gain valuable insights into the business landscape. This experience proved crucial, sharpening my understanding of client relationships and operational dynamics. When I turned 30, I took the leap and established my first corporation, a pivotal moment in my professional journey.

This trajectory has empowered me to create a career aligned with my passions and afforded me the autonomy I value deeply. It allowed me the flexibility to raise my children while also following my professional pursuits. Each step I took was driven by a desire to forge my own path and make impactful contributions to my field and the clients I serve.

I am thrilled to share that I recently became the Chief Operating Officer of Gnostic TV, a venture that has proven to be among the most exciting and fulfilling in my career thus far. This role beautifully synthesizes the wisdom, experiences, and insights I have gained from my diverse professional background. What sets Gnostic TV apart in the media landscape is our commitment to providing transformative and thought-provoking content that resonates with audiences on a deep level.

My journey to this point has not been without its challenges. It has required integrating various experiences, including leadership roles in Toastmasters, operating multiple companies, penning best-selling books, engaging in creative design, and my extensive background in filmmaking, broadcasting, and television. These experiences have contributed to my holistic understanding of leadership, content production, and the media industry, enhancing our content and outreach.

Moreover, my background includes supportive client relations and enriching lives as a professional coach and spiritual counselor. Balancing these roles alongside being a mother to children with special needs has shaped my resilience and adaptability. Now that my children are grown, I find myself in a position to embrace my passions and professional pursuits fully. This newfound freedom has allowed me to pursue my dream of crafting a successful career in media and film. In some ways, I’m just getting started.

My personal and professional journey has been challenging, requiring perseverance and gracefully navigating obstacles. I learned the importance of flexibility, continuous learning, seeking mentorship, and leaning on my support network through difficult times. Entrepreneurship can carve wounds or masterpieces, depending on how we face the challenges. Each challenge has ultimately been a valuable lesson, equipping me with the tools to build a successful business and inspire others.

Through my work at Gnostic TV, I wish to convey that our stories matter and that we all have the potential to create positive change in the world. My goal is to encourage others to pursue their passions and recognize the value of their unique experiences as they contribute to the larger tapestry of our collective narrative.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Having embraced a nomadic lifestyle for nearly three years, I’ve had the luck of exploring various places and cultures around the world. Now, I find myself settling in the vibrant city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The beach here is stunning, with its warm waters and white sand. If a friend were visiting, we’d spend a day at Fort Lauderdale Beach sunbathing, swimming, or simply strolling along the shore, which would be the perfect welcome to the Sunshine State. We would visit Hugh Taylor Birch State Park for a peaceful walk through nature and grab lunch at Turtle Café inside the park. We’d take the water taxi to the shops at Las Olas. We would enjoy a sunset at the Nube’, one of Fort Lauderdale’s many rooftop restaurants. Because I’m still new to the city, spending a week exploring with a friend would be just as much of a learning adventure for me as it would be for them.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Reflecting on my professional journey, I’ve come to realize that the notion of being “self-made” is somewhat of a myth. Success is rarely the result of individual efforts alone; it is profoundly shaped by the people, experiences, and resources surrounding us.

I am immensely grateful to my support team, which encompasses diverse contributors. In particular, I recognize the value of high-quality products and services that have enabled my businesses to thrive, as well as the loyalty of my customers and clients who believed in my vision. Beyond the professional realm, I’m thankful for the self-improvement books I’ve immersed myself in over the years, which provided me with insights and strategies to grow personally and professionally.

My supportive friends and loving family have always been my sounding board during challenges, offering encouragement and perspective that has been invaluable. Lastly, my deep spiritual connection to myself has been an anchor throughout my journey, guiding me in understanding my purpose and maintaining resilience.
