We had the good fortune of connecting with Bernadette Rodriguez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bernadette, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
My work life balance has changed so much over time. When I first got into real estate, I worked worked worked and my mental health really took a toll. I was working a full time job and real estate until 10pm at night and although no one would’ve guessed it, I was extremely stressed and overwhelmed. I took a big step back and creating boundaries allowing myself time to enjoy life and spend it with my loved ones. I think i’ve finally found a great balance between both,

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor® in Arizona and work alongside a team of other realtors. However, we are different because we don’t do things like everyone else. We literally strive to change lives, not just make a paycheck. There is a ton of passion behind the things we do. I am extremely proud to work alongside such amazing and compassionate people.

This journey for me has definitely not been easy. There are a lot of late nights and early mornings. Some nights I’d make it home very late and dinner would be over and my daughter would be asleep already. Some mornings i’m working and making calls while my bf makes breakfast. So needless to say, there is TONS of working but I have managed to create some boundaries and balance my work-life extremely better than originally.

I started off overworking myself and being very stressed and overwhelmed. I had to take some steps back to breathe and create a better work life balance. I’ve learned to celebrate each win, big or small and to cut myself some slack when needed.

This was such a huge lesson for me. I love what I do and sometimes I get caught up in it, and not to say that it’s a bad thing. But I also don’t want to miss out on life and my loved ones either. A work life balance is very important to me and i’m proud to have gotten where I am.

Currently I specialize in new construction, first-time buyers, and move up buyers. My goal is to help others create wealth through real estate and that comes in many different forms. Sometimes as a first time home buyer, you want the big shiny object but your finances don’t line up right. I help my buyers work their way up to that dream home. Whether that be a townhome/condo in the meantime or a smaller home they renovate to their liking, the end goal is always getting that luxurious home. But it’s a journey and I help my buyer’s navigate that journey from beginning to end.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love my city. I grew up in Phoenix so I know the city pretty well. If I was planning a week long trip for my best friend visiting the area, i’d start in downtown phoenix. There are tons of local businesses to eat and shop at. We’d then head to the west valley where I was raised. The west valley has grown so much in the past years that many people don’t know about the hidden gems out here. Development has increased and there is tons of entertainment and restaurants now. I’d take them through the west valley experiencing all that it has to offer and finally end the week in Scottsdale. Scottsdale has some of the best nightlife and that would be the cherry on top to a week long trip.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think I wouldn’t be where I am in my real estate career if it weren’t for my team. I connected with Coco Dixon and joined her and Mitchell Fair and everything changed for me. The insight and advice my team provides is like nothing else. The three of us work so well and have such different personalities and lives but come together to meet one goal – changing lives.

We work collectively as a team and not many people in the real estate industry work together. They’ve taught me so much and I continue to learn every single day.
