Meet Xochitl Gracia | Social Worker, Immigrant, Vegan Lifestyle Blogger

We had the good fortune of connecting with Xochitl Gracia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Xochitl, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I believe in being relatable and providing information that will serve a purpose. My Instagram page focuses on my vegan lifestyle; I’m not striving for perfection but rather for showing that small changes make big impacts, especially in the local scene, which I love to support in any way I can. Authenticity plays a big role in what I do and I enjoy being being as transparent as possible while being respectful of the information I share on my page,, which plays a big role in being relatable. I truly hope and believe that people come back to my page to find attainable ways to incorporate a vegan tip or two into their daily lives, and that right there is when I believe the information I share serves a purpose.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started in social work without knowing what I was really getting into, one of my best friends brought me into it when I found myself with a tight deadline to find a job. I believe that to succeed in this field you have to understand the reasons that keep you going. For me is going to bed at night knowing that I use my abilities to serve others and to improve the society that me, you reading this, and everyone lives in. I believe in a more equal and peaceful society and I’m proud to say that I do my best to do my part. The biggest lesson that I learned is that being emotional and vulnerable is a strength not a weakness and that if used with a purpose they become powerful tools to impact lives. My career overlaps my vegan social media platform in many ways, especially in the sense of empathy and the strong focus on ethics and morality.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend for an early coffee date at Decibel Coffee Works at the MSA Annex, followed by a long conversation to catch up and ending with an early lunch at Beaut Burger. I would then take my best friend to downtown Tucson to roam the streets and then grab a big bowl of Pho from Pho Can Tho on Campbell or have a street style dinner at Ensenada Street Food.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My sister Marcela who planted the ethical seed of veganism, my husband Daniel who watered the seed, and my parents Xochitl and Leopoldo who nurture the harvest.
