We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We were thrust into mainstream business. We started our model as caregivers on the traditional market. Helping patients get meds as growers, producers and licensed caregivers.

Dispensaries didn’t open here in Arizona for three years after medical was voted in. So there were several patients with no where to get medicine. Caregivers were the only viable sources.

That’s when Zonka Bars we’re born. We were already growers and producers so it was easy transitioning to help many.

Three years into our journey and as dispensaries came on line, we were raided. We had some very serious charges for helping people but felt it wasn’t the end of our journey.

We started our Hempful line from the adversity of Zonka Bars. Showing people that the plants aren’t that much different and should one day be treated as such.

Not only do we have multiple retail stores but our Zonka Bars Brand is now back on shelves in legal dispensaries currently.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
OG Zonka Farms is a family owned and operated business in Arizona. We have been in business since 2010. We started our company as caregivers when medical passed in Arizona.

After two years of servicing medical patients, we were raided for the very plant that was saving so many.

While fighting our case in court, we converted everything to hemp/CBD and Hempful Farms was born.

In 2018, we relaunched in Arizona dispensaries. We also dropped our documentary #HATERSMAKEMEFAMOUS on Amazon Prime telling our story along with a book, #OneLife available also on Amazon

In 2019 we founded www.zonkamiles.org non profit helping people in prison for cannabis and the children of those same families.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we would visit the Grand Canyon! The largest hole in the earth and probably the coolest to see in person!

Then we would ride through Sedona stopping at a few local visits and bars. Eating amazing food and meeting realty cool people.

Then we would have to hit Lake Powell for a few days on a house boat. Seeing the many miles of amazing views.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to my wife, Andi Martin. She is the reason this whole story happened and continues to move forward without hesitation or regret. After 20 years of love and heartbreak we have learned so much about each other as humans but as partners in life and business.
