We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Klick and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brian, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my own coaching business for many reasons. The first and main reason was after being coached so poorly and developing so many health issues related to it all, I knew right then and there that it was not only within my ability, but my public duty to make sure I not only coached people from my end, but also make sure that they are the best they can be and minimize hardships within their lives even beyond just fitness. All life ties together and it all starts with mentality. If you are unable to help others through these things, then you are only as good as the athlete currently is. My other reason is that I want to be able to provide an opportunity to the friends and family I love within growing this business and ensure everyone can live a great and meaningful life as a unit.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Growing up in a conflicting area can be very tough on the mind, the body and the understanding that you can achieve. Environment can play a big part in where you are and what you recognize as a good path or a negative one. I grew up in New York and later moved to Washington state. I was a wild teen and got myself into plenty of mischief. I didn’t realize until I found body building that I was more or less acting out from a feeling of not understanding of who I was or the leader that was inside. Focus, discipline and integrity are the key words I would use that following this path quickly taught me. I had some pretty bad coaching, immense suffering way beyond what is normal even in the extreme sport of body building. I never once stopped or gave up and this forever gave me the willpower to push through about any obstacle and to learn true empathy towards others. I feel this extreme experience helped me become far from the average coach paired with a wild youth experience growing up to understand and see inside people beyond what most can or care to do. I feel that I am responsible for each clients journey even outside of my typical job description, and by becoming this and making this how I run my business have developed a following and circle of what I would consider top notch people full of true compassion and integrity. I will go the extra mile for anyone in need that puts the effort into this as a joint effort in becoming more than just your average body builder or fitness competitor. I love what I do and the ultimate prize is seeing something that they had no idea or lacked the confidence to see in themselves and bringing it out full throttle!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
What made this article the perfect fit for me is that Washington state though beautiful and the place that started me and my business, just doesn’t do it for me. People tend to be quite passive, awkward and a constant taint environment that isn’t my particular taste. I have a few very good friends who moved to Arizona and I have heard nothing but amazing things. Phoenix is my next destination and where I would love to expand my coaching business to. Once I have my new place by around March this upcoming year, I will be able to give a much better review on where I would love to take my friends who visit! Very excited and it looks to be the right fit for who I am!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Hands down I would say the two main people who deserve credit in my life to helping me be where I am today is my older brother Kristopher Sims and my mother Anita Sims. Of course there are plenty of others very close to me who provide great rolls in keeping me grounded and understanding plenty in life to help guide my actions, but as a top two these two family members shine above and beyond. They mean everything to me and deserve the recognition in every single way.
