We had the good fortune of connecting with Irene Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Irene, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
CrossFit gyms around the world are unique in the fact that they are a community within themselves and CrossFit Prescott Valley is not different. We take pride and our humbled with the fact that when you walk in the door of our gym you are taking a step to find the healthiest happiest you and you get to do it with a group of like minded people with a common goal of health.
When you enter our gym you get to leave the stresses of the day outside and just workout and have fun and laugh.
Our gym brings people together in a very unique way, from all walks of life, all different ages and social backgrounds.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My husband and I own CrossFit Prescott Valley and it is our mission to provide each and every person that walks in our doors with a safe environment and the tools they need to reach the healthiest happiest version of themselves. We started as trainers in the gym and in June of 2020 were given the opportunity to take over ownership and it has changed our lives.
We are humbled and blessed to be able to make an impact in our members life through fitness, nutrition and community support.
These members are our second family. We grow with them, cry and laugh with them, suffer through workouts with them, we are #cfpvstrong.
We want people to know what CrossFit really is. It is a lifestyle of health and community and not only the pictures that you see when you google of heavy weights and maybe “impossible” movements.
Our members range from 5 years old to 82!! and they all are doing amazing.
CrossFit is an answer to chronic disease and you get to do it with the support and love of your community

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First, of course, we would do a workout at CrossFit Prescott Valley. Get pampered at Skin Lounge by J, then have lunch at Farm Provisions.
Go on a hike on one of Prescott Valleys and surrounding areas many amazing trails and lakes.
Walk around Downtown Prescott and finish off the night with tapas and live music at El Gato Azul!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
