We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian B and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, what do you attribute your success to?
For me, it’s a super simple formula. Work hard, stay humble, and then pay it forward. There’s an overlying theme of realizing that I will never full arrive as the “perfect” version of myself. The moment I feel like I’ve achieved something, it’s not time to relax. It’s the exact opposite – I hit the gas. Another theme is to be your authentic self. There’s no need to front in this day and age. You will attract the business or opportunities that clients feel like they resonate with so the more authentic you are, the more you’ll not only gain what you’re seeking but the perfect clients seem to make their way to you.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love creating evergreen event soundtracks for clients who appreciate how music can impact the soul. Every day I aspire to figure out different ways to go deeper with my process in pulling back the layers that allow that perfect music to be played at the perfect time. Over the years, I’ve realized that the reason I’m hired is that I see the world in a way that a client does not. I’ve leaned into that truth and have worked extremely hard to chart out a process that allows me to deliver my best work with each client I work with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Assuming money was limitless, I would research the places that I think speak to their soul and take them there – not as a tourist but more with a “locals” bent. It would be a combination of culture, art, food and of course, music. Ideally, I’d want to find one thing to represent the place we are at so when they tell others of their experience, they can reference that thing.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would do a dis-service by shouting out certain folks and missing others. Let’s just say, I am the sum of all my experiences. I’m grateful for all the people I’ve had the pleasure to get to know – whether that was for a season or those that have been a constant in my life. I don’t take anyone for granted. We all can learn from anyone if we’re willing to do so.
