Meet Taj Pledger | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Taj Pledger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taj, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?

To me personally, success means overcoming failure. Being able to live a happy life doing what I love is success. It doesn’t necessarily matter if you’re poor or rich, if you are constantly striving to make your situation better with drive and focus then you are successful.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

Perfect Capture Photography began in 2015, at first it started off as just a hobby and eventually turned into a successful business. What sets me apart from other photographers? I uplift my clients and encourage them to have confidence. I want everyone that walks in my studio to feel confident, no matter of any imperfections they may see or feel.  It’s always good to compliment and encourage them and do a few candid shots. A lot of my clients rave about how I make them feel during their photoshoots. Which I take a lot of pride in. It’s very important to me that not only do my clients have fun during their shoot, I also want them to feel good while doing it. I show them exactly how to pose, I make them laugh, and I pay very close attention to details. I make sure I keep up with the trends and always adding new props and ideas. I also continue to learn a wealth of knowledge about the business. I have taken classes, I network with many other photographers and I do a lot of advertising to keep my business relevant.  I overcame a lot of challenges by never giving up on myself. The lessons I have learned is I will only go as far as I push myself. Of course there were obstacles during the process but I always knew my overall goal was to be successful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

When my friends or family visit the area, I love to take them out to La Crab located in Mesa for some tasty sea food. Not only is their food amazing, their drink are also just as good. After eating amazing food, I’d take them to top golf which is a great place for some fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I would love to give credit to my best friend Mark. He taught me the ins and outs of the business side of photography and never let me give up. He truly believed in me & opened up his extra office room to me for my first studio location back in 2019. I am extremely grateful for that. I would also love to give credit to my mother. She is the reason why I got into photography to begin with. She would always do photoshoots with me growing up and I grew to truly love it.
