We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Rene’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I always loved fashion and I learned to sew at an early age. I have always been plus-size since I was a teen, and I wanted the cute and trendy clothes that were always available in smaller sizes. I was tired of shopping and seeing limited sizes in the Plus Size Department, which was always hidden in the back of the store like the ugly stepchild! Due to my frustration, I started making my own designs. People would stop me and asked where I bought my clothes. At that point, I realized there were more women out there like me that wanted what I had to offer. As a result, my business has flourished, as sixty-seven percent of the US population wear a size 14 or above.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would say I’m most proud to be the owner of the largest and only plus-size boutique on the Las Vegas Strip. We’re located in Fashion Show Mall and we specialize in casual to couture, and bridal, in sizes 12 to 28.

It hasn’t been easy but it’s gratifying when women from all over the world come into the boutique and say how they wish they had a place to shop like Rene’ Tyler where they live.

One major lesson I learned is that you have to be able to pivot no matter what life throws at you. COVID was a prime example. We had to rebrand since we were in lockdown and had to start offering loungewear and more causal pieces that customers could wear while at home, or while working from home.

I would want the world to know that no matter what size you are there’s a place for you to feel comfortable and have beautiful clothes. I believe whether you’re a size four or thirty-four fashion is for everyone!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely bring them to Fashion Show Mall (where were located haha). Vegas has so much to offer, there are so many great and amazing things to do and see here. Some of the best restaurants in the world are here in Vegas.

Some of my favorites are Barry’s at Circa in Downtown Las Vegas and The Container Park. Jardin at the Wynn for brunch, and for a great cocktail Lobby Bar at Encore.

For sightseeing, the fountains and the botanical gardens at the Bellagio are a must-see. And for concerts, the T-Mobile Arena is an amazing venue. If you’re a sports fan Allegiant Stadium is the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

For hiking and outdoors, Red Rock Canyon has gorgeous views.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to give a shoutout to my friend Lori Judd of 515 Connections. She has been one of my dearest friends and has always supported me since the beginning of my journey as an entrepreneur.
