We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney Simmons and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whitney, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business is to have time freedom, build an emperor for my family and serve my community. I grew up in a family where we struggled and didn’t have much ownership of anything. I wanted to change the trajectory of that by breaking generational curses over my family and creating generational wealth. I was a teen mom who had a child at the age of 16. I wanted to break all stereotypes aimed at teen moms. Wanted to show that with God all things are possible.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a single teen mom was very challenging but I had to make up my mind that I was not gone be what everyone thought I would be. I am an overcomer, lost my mom at the age of 11 and that along was difficult for me, but I pushed myself through school and graduated as valedictorian and went to college to be a nurse. My nursing career has been very successful but I still desired more and I desired time freedom. So in 2018 I quit my full time job as a wound care nurse and focused on my entrepreneurial journey. Being awarded top nurse of my state of residence in 2018 was a major accomplishment for me. I have overcame a lot of my challenges in life by keeping a relationship with God and staying prayed up. I set quarterly goals, I invest in my education and I stay coachable. The moment you think you know it all is the moment you disservice yourself. What I have learned so far because I still have a lot to learn is that words are powerful and you have the power to change your life. You can either be a victim or be victorious and I chose to be victorious. Life doesn’t always go according to planned but no matter how hard it gets don’t give up. Speaking from someone who was suicidal at one point in my life. I learned along this journey that your family want be your biggest supporters and that’s okay. You have to have a servant mentality and have a go giver attitude. Stay positive in this negative world and surround yourself around people who know more than you and can add value to your life. What I want the world to know about me is I don’t give up and if you put your mind to something it can be done. I am someone who has had so many traumatic things that has happened to me growing up motherless and fatherless, being a teen mom, battling depression, losing a child. All these traumas can destroy a person but if you keep God first you will succeed in all that you do. I am my brand and I represent royalty, loyalty and being an inspiration to all I cross paths with.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to get a nice massage then go to the Botanical gardens in Phoenix. We would go to the Sugarbowl and have a drink at Bitter and twisted cocktail Parlour. We would go ride some Atv’s and just chill by the pool.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My success is dedicated to the Lord of my life Jesus Christ. After everything I have been through in my life without a doubt Jesus has been the one to carry me through.. Would like to also thank my children for giving me my “WHY”. They are the reasons I don’t give up because it’s bigger than me.
