We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Tim Harrigan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Tim, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Absolutely the most important factor behind our success is a crystal clear VISION and unwavering PURPOSE, followed by an insatiable obsession to do better and help others. Everyone wants to be successful, of course. But I think most people have a wishlist, without a very precisely clear vision of what they want. For example, “I want a million dollars”. That’s not exciting enough to push you through all the trials and tribulations of what it will take to get through the process of earning 1 million dollars. People have dreams like millionaires do, but rarely will do the hard work that the millionaire will do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Everyone has a craft/gift, that we usually spend a long time searching for, and hopefully we actually find it and express it to it’s fullest potential. Sadly, I don’t think many people are going to their daily job expressing/sharing that gift with the world. As a child, I suffered from allergies, asthma, scrawny, sickly, lacking confidence, uncertain, and fearful; thank God my curiosity, persistence, obsession with self improvement, lead me to find my ART that has allowed us to help thousands of people improve their health. I often say that what I do is my JOB, but is not WORK. If that doesn’t make sense, I consider WORK as a mundane, tedious, boring, extremely laborious and un-motivating job that does not fulfill you. So if this is you, never stop striving to find you craft/art that will fuel your soul and help many many people along the way…

Once you find that ART, work it, grind it, get better and better, serve like your life depends on it, and help make the world a better place. There are so many struggling, unfulfilled and unhappy people in the world that we all need to step into our greatness/ART and serve on a level that changes our family’s lives, our neighbors, our community’s, our city’s, our country and the World!

When you find that ART, many things will get in the way and try to detour you, but the purposeful obsession won’t keep you down long. My daily motivation and ART have allowed me to not have any medications in my life for over 20 years, allowed my wife and I to conceive 4 healthy children that have never had any medications in their tiny little growing bodies so far, and also allowing the thousands of patient testimonials we have received over the years. Without an obsession for you ART, and without the perseverance of not allowing failures along the way to stop you, we all easily fall into that mundane and unfulfilling life. When you live and breathe what you teach, have unwavering integrity, understand there will be lots of failures along the way, and live congruently with that message, you can be unstoppable as well! It’s never easy, but it’s always worth it! Whenever I would feel fearful or hesitant, I would do what I call my rocking chair test. A mentor helped me understand this concept.

It’s quite simple. When you are fearful, doubtful or hesitating on certain decisions or actions, you do a little mental exercise. Basically you picture yourself on your porch in a rocking chair looking back at your life in your 100 year old body. You simply visualize that you are 100 years old, looking back at all the decisions and memories you had. When a certain decision or hesitation starts creeping into your mind, you simply ask yourself, what would the 100 year old version of me look back and wish I had done? Would I be regretful at 100 years old if I take this action or make this decision? Would I at least be grateful if I took action on something, even if I failed trying? The answer is usually yes, take that action or make that decision! I would much rather fail trying when looking back on my life, than regret not knowing what potentially could have happened if I didn’t take action or make that decision.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a challenging question. I would likely host them at our house, so we can provide clean/healthy food, chemical free wine (most wines contain up to 70 chemicals that they don’t have to list on a traditional bottle), maybe get a workout in with them in our home gym, and hang out with our guests and my family. We purchased a large home so we can have company often and easily.

If we were to venture out, we try to pick restaurants that have healthier and potentially organic options. A couple places may be Renee’s organic over, choice greens chopped salads, Goodness fresh food, or maybe a Mediterranean style restaurant. Some secondary options may include Zin Burger, Culinary Dropout, or Whole Foods.

We may visit some local sites where we can also hang out but maybe something active like axe throwing, top golf, bowling, golf or a staycation at one of the resorts.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout goes to several key people, including my mother who always did everything in her limited resources/power to give her kids everything she did not have. Even through bankruptcy as a child, divorce from my father, endless life struggles, she always found a way to give us what we needed, as well as some extra resources occasionally to make us feel special/important. Forever grateful for the resiliency of this woman.

My family, wife and kids, are the daily motivation to persevere and get to new levels however! They are my foundation, rock, purpose and daily joy and frustration:-). My wife was told she would not be able to have children many years ago. And since then, we have changed her health through many natural/causative methods and now have 4 children 11 years old and younger! We practice what we preach and one of our purposes is to share all the incredible health information and obsession we have learned over the decades to create an ever improving health in each of us. We have gotten incredibly good at sharing with others the amazing tools, habits, nutritional formulas, unique chiropractic, exercise, mindset and anything else that helps optimize someones health and function! Addressing the cause of a problem is not so common anymore…

And of course my cousin, (more like a big brother) who has passed away from a freak accident on a vacation a few years back, I owe everything in my life to him. He took me in under his wing when I was 17 years old, getting into trouble, rebelling, acting out, and became the example of a man I still strive to be! As my parents were divorcing, I was very independent and trying to find my purpose in life. His invitation to move to Kansas to live with him was something that would change the course of my life forever, thank God! With his example, and making me wake up at 5am to workout with him, eating healthy and with a fitness mindset, reading books like The Education of a Body Builder by Arnold Schwarzenegger, Think and Grow Rich, and many more… Each little example he provided me allowed the sculpting/creation of Dr. Tim Harrigan. I don’t even like to think of the person I would have been if he had not stepped in to help a very confused and rebellious boy. Thank you so much for believing in me Mark!

And last but not least, myself. This is not a self righteous, conceded, or an egotistical shoutout. This is me believing in me, which I feel is lacking in our society and deemed as being selfish culturally. When in fact, being strong, determined, confident, and having the grit and trust in yourself to move through all of life’s obstacles is in fact a super power, and when you constantly work on yourself mentally and physically, it then allows you to help so many other struggling people. The world is in desperate need for more people that stand for something, that have integrity, that fight like a lion, love like a mother, and better themselves so that you can be a beacon for others. If you are sick and tired and lacking confidence, how in the world can you serve and help thousands of other people in the world?! So, thank you for not believing the naysayers, skeptics and people that are struggling internally themselves and are usually just projecting…
