We had the good fortune of connecting with Terrance Hooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Terrance, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Yes, I do. My favorite quote is “If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me”. What does it mean to you: It has been my motto since I was a kid. When I’m overwhelmed and unmotivated to finish my task or improve my circumstance, I refer to my affirmation.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much to do in Phoenix from hiking, going to one of the breath taking lakes (Pleasant, Saguaro, Apache) and of course the food…I love LOLO’s. Phoenix is a major league sports city offering exciting NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS teams and do not forget to visit some of the historical areas throughout the region.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family has been the greatest inspiration from an early age. My grandmother Bessie Ladd was an entrepreneur owning and operating restaurants in Chicago and St. Louis, my uncle, Otto Hooks was a restaurant owner and is currently a real estate investor and my grandfather Eddie Drake owned a shoe shine parlor… back in the day it was essential to have shiny shoes with your suit. When I started my business, I grew faster than expected and needed financial help for expansion. Without hesitation my family came through for me. I will always be forever thankful to my mother Barbara Hooks, Sister Lisa Jones, Brother Marcius Hooks and my Aunt Geraldine Redman.
