Meet Chenoa Hill | Intuitive, Healer, Mystic, Stylist, Designer & MORE

We had the good fortune of connecting with Chenoa Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chenoa, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I would say, giving up is not an option.
There are moments where we need to surrender to things perhaps, that are not in alignment with us & move towards the path that is more aligned.
Now whether that’s for the time or it is your destined path, period.
It’s more of a process of redirection & surrender rather than saying, “I give up”.
But to determine when not to give up, I would say when your aim or your purpose constantly & consistently pursues you even when you run from it or attempt to throw in the towel.
I struggled between answering the ‘How to define success’ and this question at hand.
If it’s no issue, I’ll just touch lightly on defining success. Since I believe the act of giving up sometimes is based upon one’s view of their success or a lack thereof.
By definition, “success” means the accomplishment of a aim or purpose.
Personally, I like the second meaning that says, “a person or thing that achieves desired aims or attains prosperity”.
We as humans, can often place success and prosperity in a box based off of material assets, earthly titles, & perhaps ones popularity.
Me personally, I define success based on internal growth too.
Success is not just exclusive to material gains, accolades & public recognition.
If you look at the word “prosperity”’, prosperity means ; “a condition of being successful or thriving.”.
Thriving, means “to grow or develop well or vigorously”.
The second definition, means “to prosper and flourish”.
So there we see prosperity can also mean the growth and development of a person.
Someone’s personal inner journey can be a success story, based off of one’s healing, overcoming a fear &/or an addiction, mending a family dynamic etc.
We must be careful not to box our accomplishments & successes, by centering them around the external things.
Through chasing an end goal it can often times cause unhappiness, comparison & defeat.
Instead we must be present, reminding ourselves to seek also internal success, while enjoying the process & journey as we walk through it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is very “eccentric”, if that’s even the best word to describe it (laughs) !
It’s honestly a mixture of different cultures that inspires me, & other things that I visualize & things that I find interest in from anime, to streetwear, Bollywood, elephant’s, Goddesses, etc. (laughs).
Throw that into a big gumbo mixture & you’ll see that is my art.
My body is my canvas.
In other words, the items that I wear on my head down to my feet are all things that are particular elements of ME.
It’s challenging to say what I’m most proud of with my art.
Only because I feel like I have a long way to go to truly cultivate that artistic vision that signifies who I am as an artist.
What sets me apart ?
So many things (laughs).
No, but seriously what sets me apart artistic wise, one of the things that I like to do is design durags.
We’ve seen durags being worn on high end fashion runways & celebrities wearing them at awards shows.
However, I’ve never personally seen a bedazzled durag.
And… with the intent of covering your head for spiritual purposes & slay at the same time.
My artistic journey wasn’t easy nor was it too challenging to get to where I am as far as an artist, because I’ve always felt proud to wear what I wanted or believed in what I was representing.
Yeah, I’ve had people that might’ve discouraged me at times & say that my visions were “wack” (laughs).
But I’ve also witnessed others copying my look or wanting to re-create what I’ve done, & mind you we all have inspirations, so I’ve grown to take it as a compliment.
The lesson that I’ve learned personally, is to keep raising the bar for yourself and just explore whatever comes to your mind visually.
There’s no such thing as a fail, more so a process of cultivation. I’ve shocked myself with the things I’ve been inspired to create. I’ve never foresaw this far into the styles & looks I’d manifest.
Sometimes I’ll have a specific vision of something that I want to create.
Whether it’s a jewelry piece or something with fabrics (for instance my durags), & I’ll find that it might come out a bit different, but it’s actually more doper than I originally saw it in my mind.
I want the world to know that I’m not just a tarot reader, content creator or just a chick that makes pretty jewelry, but that I also have big visions for the world.
I have a big voice that has been suppressed for years.
I just want to speak to the people you know ?
Mainly, young women & children.
And to encourage people to love themselves authentically & to step into their Divine purposes in life, through my testimony.
And to continue to heal, inspire & use the voice that God gave me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For anyone that’s just visiting Phoenix, the first place that I would encourage them to go to is, Poetic Soul. Shout out to Poetic Soul!
Hands down, without a doubt one of my top favorite places to go in Phoenix.
Second for nightlife, is the Lowkey in Tempe.
It is a underground level piano bar, where they sing covers of any song that you request.
It’s definitely a fun experience.
As a taurean queen, we are foodies by nature (laughs) !
So it wouldn’t be right to leave out some food spots.
I have so many spots, but I can’t share them all..
Tams in phoenix is a walk up window old school vibe Chinese food restaurant.
They have the best egg rolls & my personal fav is their jalapeño wings !! Try the sloppy bags too if you’re a nacho lover, you’ll see why 😉
And Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in Tempe. They make some yummy margaritas and beeritas.
They even have champagneritas.
Yes, I said champagne!
For my bookworms, you have to visit the Changing Hands bookstore in Phoenix.
And for my fellow crystal gems, you must visit the Black Minerals Market in the Arizona Mills mall. They have a decent variety of beautiful crystals, range of different sized dream catchers & so much more for very affordable prices.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shout out anyone that has ever prayed for me, believed in me, shared my work with others, spoke positively about me behind my back, sown into me whether that be buying a product or a reading.
As well as pouring love, light & life into me when I didn’t believe in myself.
Shoutout to those that continue to encourage me & inspire me to fully step into my calling & embrace me for ME !
Rocking with me through my many shifts & transitions.
Anyone that has ever given me a chance to thrive, giving me the floor to speak my truth & express myself.
And most of all shout out to God, because without Them I wouldn’t be here in so many ways.
From the bottom of my heart, & within the best of my ability & in an infinite capacity that I can give and say, THANK YOU !
