We had the good fortune of connecting with A.J. Howse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi A.J., what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I really enjoy cool designs, and why not slap one or two on a comfy *ss shirt? Haha I never really got into it that much until I started following crooks and castles merch line. The designs, the clothes, the brand name. Everything about it got me hooked and I wanted to start doing that so I did!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
It’s all logos and designs I’ve thought of. Nothing used frequently like Disney stuff or Star Wars things. It’s all from my mind and what I’ve come across that I enjoy I slap it on and boom! I got an artist now I work with that helps big time with what I plan to put on future merchandise and they know my style spot on. It’s nice

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I personally love whyte ave. There is a nice spot off it only a couple blocks away that has a nice view of the city and then all the other places like cool bars, karaoke spots and restaurants live on whyte and it makes me happy

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly everyone I’ve encountered has left some sort of memory for me but it’s always going to be my family, my close friends. I can’t name enough people but if they read this they’ll know.
