We had the good fortune of connecting with DZE LIKE RZA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi DZE, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Number 1 definitely is writing everything down. Whether it be to-do list, video ideas, or random plans for the future, writing it down always acts as a bookmark for me where I can just pick up where I left off. & Number 2 I wanna say looking at the big picture. Little things we do day to day may seem small or not worth it at the moment, but if you look at your main goal and have the mindset that you have to go through all these baby steps to get to the final stage then it makes you appreciate life and be more present instead of trying to fix the past or live in the future too soon.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
BZE Records & Entertainment is the name of my business. I graduated from (CRAS) the conservatory of recording arts and sciences at the beginning of 2022 and that was one of the main reasons I brought the idea to life. I actually enrolled right after my daughter was born. My sister is currently a student at GCU for Animation. She’s been behind all the cover arts and logos thus far shout out to ‘Sapphire Bluu’ ! We offer graphic design, mix and mastering, song writing & artist development. So far I’ve done more engineering through BZE records but when the big picture is finished I expect it be running like a media company/ record label.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite food spots I’d take them to are:

The taco shop behind the gas station on 35th Ave & Camelback
Senor Sushi
Canton Wong 8 (gotta be 8)
Ono Hawaiian BBQ
OK Fish & Chips (closed down but used to be on the south side of phoenix)
Cheba Hut
& Stacy’s Off Da Hook BBQ and Soul Food!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a couple shoutouts in this case! First off I have to thank the Heavenly Father, The Most High for allowing me to be who I’m supposed to be. Shoutout to my first born daughter I just had back in August of 2020 she made me a better person. Shoutout to my family Emmitt Dupree! He’s pushed me to become a better artist. & finally shoutout to Drae W. ! Another artist from AZ perfecting his craft also in BZE Records. He’s a true soulful singer, look out for more of his work this year!
