We had the good fortune of connecting with Zach Harper and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Zach, why did you pursue a creative career?
I started this not as a career, but really something for me to enjoy. It started, simply put, as something for me. I wasn’t pursuing money or a big following, I just wanted a collection of something n that represented me, and that I could watch grow as I gain more experience and develop more skills along the way. I enjoy photography and creating and just said ‘why not’ and from that concept to now nothing really is any different. I’m still mainly doing it for me, but it’s nice that others are tagging along for the ride!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are so many things to be proud of, but I think most of all is being able to work with some amazing brands that I’ve enjoyed from a consumer point of view. And now I get to see things from the other side of the business.

I’m most excited to continue to share what I love with as many people as I can, to share the benefits and usefulness of being prepared through what you can carry on your person to help aid and assist you with your daily tasks.

As to how I’ve gotten to where I’m at professionally, I wouldn’t call it easy. It’s taken a lot of hard work and time. But as the saying goes ‘nothing that’s worth it is ever easy’. I think the biggest challenge to overcome is motivation, especially on a platform that requires and thrives on being creative, being able to push through the days or weeks where you struggle for ideas or the want to pick up the camera. Being able to still go out and make something is the way I’ve found gets me through those less productive times.

I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned to this point is never lose sight of why you started in the first place. And that goes for anything not just a professional career but in life. There’s always a reason you start something. Never forget what that reason is and let it fuel your success as you continue in that endeavor.

My brand is based on the concept of Everyday Carry or the things you carry with you on a daily basis. And my platform is based on informing the general public on what the upsides and benefits would be when you consider adding a few extra items into your pockets.

My story isn’t a long one. I’m just a normal guy that loves my hobby and having a creative outlet to share that love with whoever it may reach.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being in a pretty city centered area in Phoenix Arizona there’s no shortage of exciting places. I’d say on the list has to be the Grand Canyon! Even though every one I tell is just as shocked to hear that I’ve never been myself.. but still a great spot to go! One of the best places to have a good time and see some rodeo would have to be Blue Chip, there’s bull riding and line dancing. My favorite hang out spot would have to be downtown. You have all the sports arenas neighboring each other plus all the city life in one place. It doesn’t get much better than that! A Phoenix suns game would be pretty close to the top of the list. And as far as food goes, some of the best food I’ve had comes out of a small town diner in Sedona. I don’t think I’ve had a better plate of nachos than what I had. I can’t remember the name but it over looks the mountains surrounding the city and the view is breathtaking.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a lot of credit of my love of photography and creating to my mom. She’s been a photographer for as long as I can remember, and naturally there was always a camera around. So as time went on I just grew a passion for it and now creating myself! So I want to shout out my mom, because I wouldn’t be doing any of this without her.
