Each of my businesses came from the idea of me trying to solve the problems I had where I couldn’t find solutions elsewhere. For example, From Plants Beauty (fromplantsbeauty.com), came from an idea when I was pregnant and trying to find safe skincare products to use during that time. I couldn’t find 100% organic, plant-derived skincare products to use, so I created one myself. I knew other moms-to-be out there would have the same concerns, and if I could share my creations with them that could help them a lot during their pregnancy. For my brand new business “Mollie et Moi” Style subscription box, mollieetmoi.com, the idea came from spending less money on fashion and online shopping while not sacrificing your style. So, I created a box with five to seven chic and timeless style items offered at a lower price than shopping the pieces individually. All items included in the package are meant to last for all seasons, you can wear them today or five years later. I came up with the idea to start a nonprofit from my own experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 35. At the time of my diagnosis, my three children ranged in age from 1 to 11. I realized that a cancer diagnosis is never welcome at any age or stage of life. Being a mom with cancer comes with many more obstacle. Moms do not have the luxury of taking time off for even the common cold, let alone taking the time for surgery recovery and treatment from cancer.
