We had the good fortune of connecting with Abel Nava and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Abel, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I feel like I had to pursue a creative career because I enjoy making music and I figured why not make a living doing what I love and what comes naturally. I began making music at the age of 15 but I didn’t take it serious until after I graduated high school. I went from job to job and I told myself I didn’t want to spend my entire life doing something I don’t enjoy doing. Music is on my mind at all times and has brought motivation, peace, joy and inspiration to my life and all I want to do is pass that on to the world and anyone who can understand it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like what sets me apart from others is that I am not in competition with anyone else, I am not focused on trying to sound like anyone or pretending to be somebody else I like to be as transparent as can be with myself, the people and my art. I feel like I got where I’m at because of finally believing in myself and always trying to take that next step to get where I need to be and because the close people in my life who kept motivating and supporting me to keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a week to kick it with my best friend I would go hit up K1 speedway and get down on some go-karts then end the night at a roof top bar to enjoy some drinks, talk ideas and enjoy the view. As much as I love being inside I also love the outdoors so whenever we got time my homies and I often go off-roading and cruising in our cars to our favorite outskirt spots or views. I can say I’m big on people who are transparent, outgoing, understanding, and open minded, I feel like those people are easiest to get along with and the most down to earth and I’m grateful to say the people around me fit the description. One of the most coolest things to check out here in the city is

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shoutout all the great people in my life like Alex Goodeaux and his team as well as my people from Healthy club and the Wrekroom podcast. Honestly these are just really genuine groups of a few people who have not only showed me love but have supported me and continue to motivate me to keep going with my ideas.
