We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Schiff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adam, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
My design vibe is all about taking risks and going way outside of the box. I absolutely love color, texture and anything unique. I like doing things that no one else is doing which is what my career has been built on. My clients come to me to stretch them and do things they’ve never dreamed of.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other designers is my passion for color. It does not scare me to push the boundaries on every project that I do. I’m currently working on 2 new builds where I’ve specified everything from the ground up. I’m also working on 6 remodels which I’m very excited about. I’m finishing up a house in Taliesin West which was totally Tuscan. We have completely gutted it, have made it contemporary and it’s truly a spectacular transformation.
My biggest challenge was that I moved here right before covid and didn’t know many people. Being in lockdown for 15 months was a big struggle to build my brand in AZ.. I had to have patience, faith and persevere as that was my only option. It’s paid off in major ways and I’ve created a name for myself here. All of my life I’ve heard people talk about not giving up and even in the worst case scenario of covid it has paid off enormously. I’m very proud of what I create and affecting my client’s lives.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One of my greatest friends was just visiting. I had a party as I wanted her to meet all of the wonderful people in my life. I took her to one of my new build job sites so that she could see what I was working on and I was proud to share it with her. We also went to the Desert Botanical Garden which has a Chihuly exhibit that was stunning.
There are so many exciting things happening here so a lot to experience from Old town Scottsdale to Downtown Phoenix. There are also a lot of fun places to visit nearby. Sedona is beautiful, relaxing and a great fast getaway.
