We had the good fortune of connecting with Alli Caulfield and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alli, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
Trio Creative Studios originated from a love of creativity and helping small businesses thrive. I studied advertising in college and saw all the resources that large ad firms gave to big corporations to help them scale. Huge teams of art directors, designers, and copywriters worked on each project.
When it came to small businesses, I wasn’t seeing that sort of approach. It seemed like the big creative ideas, multitude of resources, and teams dedicated to each client were reserved for the big players.
Trio exists at the intersection of strategy and creativity. We give small businesses access to agency-level quality work.
Trio refers to our three core services: design, messaging, and website development. Together these services help small businesses thrive online.

I distinguish my brand from others by leaning in on my earthy, industrial style and doing more than just brand design. Trio allows me to be a creative director, designer, and writer. The ability to do all three of these things makes up the Trio brand.
You have to bet on you. In order to succeed as a creative entrepreneur, know that taking risks is inevitable. You have to leap and trust that the parachute will open and help you land exactly where you’re supposed to. There’s no substitute for this. It feels scary, daunting, and overwhelming….but I believe it feels that way for everyone. When we lean on others, look to mentors, and truly believe in the power of what we are doing-success is inevitable.
You get to choose your own definition of success. I believe that anyone who stands firm in who they are is a success. Anyone who is trying to return to the core of what makes them who they are is doing something exceptional.
The biggest lesson is simple: you got this. Even when you feel like all you’re doing is screwing up, you’re filled with uncertainty. or things aren’t going your way. Trust that all the mistakes are a part of your journey.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the
best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
