We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Egley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angela, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Well I’m not a quitter that’s for sure … and i enjoy what I’m doing so I keep going… I work full time as a sales consultant for a local liquor distributor and candle making keeps me busy in the evenings and weekends .. I do it because it’s an outlet for me since my children have grown up and moved out and I needed a hobby to keep me busy … I’ve recently been accepted to sell wholesale on Faire, Tundra, Trada and just this week Wayfair ….

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My full time job for the past 10 years has been as a sales rep for a local liquor distributor here in town.. My successes over the 10 years have been numerous sales of the month awards and 2x sales of the year … From 2017 – 2021, I’ve been the highest revenue sales consultant for my division … In 2020, I brought in $2.4 million for the company which was my highest intake in my 10 years with the company …

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My take on a week long vacation with my best friend would be a trip to the Grand Canyon with a mule ride down to the bottom, a day in Flag on the slopes, a day at lake pleasant renting a pontoon and watching the sunset on the water, a day hiking camelback mountain, several days in my backyard in the pool doing a bbq, catching a cardinals game or diamondbacks game, spending a few evenings at the area casinos, and a day drive to Sedona.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Shoutout goes to my children… I have raised 3 girls, mostly as a single mom and have been blessed with 4 grandchildren and 3 acquired grandchildren…they fill my life with happiness and love .. my oldest daughter is a insurance adjuster and has 2 children and 1 thru marriage, my middle daughter is a pharmacy technician has 1 child and 2 additional children thru marriage and my youngest daughter is a teacher and has 1 child… over the last 35 years they have taught me so much about myself and have given me so many life lessons along the way .. I have learned determination is one of my best qualities, I rarely give up.. I fight when most people see no end in sight … I give it my all 100% and pour my heart and soul into whatever it is I’m doing.. starting this candle business was a risky decision with so many candle makers out there but I found a niche that I enjoy doing and I set myself apart from the other makers by using vessels that are recyclable, for example I make a lot of my candles in coffee mugs or glass jars that can be repurposed after the candle has burned… I find cute trinkets that can be used as a vessel and than repurposed afterwards… I also do wood working and make home decor and planter boxes… as you can see I like staying busy..
