Meet Angie Rever | Head Trainer & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Rever and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When my family and I were planning our move to Arizona, I started looking into local dog training options. I quickly realized there weren’t many facilities offering the style of training or the level of results I knew were possible. My goal has always been to make high-quality dog training accessible to the people who need it. Opening my own business felt like the natural solution so I could provide the kind of training, structure, and support that I believe both dogs and their owners deserve.

What should our readers know about your business?
Our approach to dog training is highly individualized for each dog and their family. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter programs. Every dog is different, every family dynamic is different, and our training reflects that. We focus on building lasting relationships between the dog, the family, and the trainer so that the results are not only effective, but sustainable for the long term.
What makes us most proud is watching dogs grow into the best versions of themselves and seeing their families truly enjoy life with them the way it’s meant to be. We also specialize in service dog training, which is where we find some of the greatest fulfillment in our work. Watching a dog transform someone’s life- helping them gain independence, confidence, and freedom in their daily routines is incredibly rewarding.
This business was built from a passion that started when I was 11 years old. There have been many people who helped shape Mr. Canine into what it is today. Running a business while raising a family isn’t easy. I’ve stumbled, made mistakes, and had moments where the challenges felt overwhelming. But with the support of my family and the guidance of my mentors, I kept moving forward and continued building the vision I believed in.
Along the way, I’ve learned a lot. The dogs have taught me patience and self awareness. My family has taught me the importance of time management and balance. And my mentors have taught me the value of listening, learning, and adapting.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that Mr. Canine isn’t just about dog training, it’s about relationships. It’s about family. We build real connections with our clients and their dogs, and we genuinely care about the people and animals we work with.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week, I’d want to show them a mix of local gems, community events, and fun places that really capture the spirit of the area.
We would definitely start by visiting some local farmers markets, one of my favorites is Desert West Famers Market. I love supporting small businesses and local makers, so it’s always fun to grab a lemonade, browse handmade goods, and try fresh food from local vendors.
During the hotter months, I’d take them to explore indoor spots like the Brass Armadillo Antique Mall or Painted Tree Boutiques. Both are great places to wander for hours discovering unique finds, vintage pieces, and handmade items from small vendors.
For nightlife and entertainment, we’d spend some time at Westgate Entertainment District. The atmosphere there is always fun no matter the season. It’s a great place to grab dinner, people watch, and enjoy whatever event might be happening that week.
I also love taking friends to community events. Things like food truck festivals, outdoor concerts, and local gatherings. One event I especially enjoy is Desert Dog Police K9 Trials, which supports police and military K9s. It’s an incredible event that combines community, working dogs, and a great cause. I look forward to this event every year.
For me, the best part of showing someone around is the local culture. Supporting small businesses, meeting passionate vendors, and experiencing community events is what really makes this area special.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shout out to my mentor, Andrew, who played a huge role in shaping me as a trainer. He taught me how to handle high pressure situations with confidence and helped me understand the business side of dog training.
I also want to recognize my husband, Jimmy. He stood beside me through every stage of this journey, encouraging me when things were difficult and even working two jobs so I could focus on building this dream.
