We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
Values that mean the most to me are; trust, dedication, and discipline. You must trust yourself to take risk. Dedication is profoundly important to keep the thinking cap on and ‘reinventing’ yourself when needed.

Discipline, is the action of staying on course for your goals.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I wrote a book because there are so many lessons I learned and experiences that I wanted to share about how I became a professional chef. Tom Kitty, explains my experience as a young child growing up and finding a love for food that drove me with passion, and desire, in a career field where African Americans are minorities. I knew becoming a chef, was not just a job. I saw it as art, and how food brought all Ethnicities together from all parts of the world. My Journey becoming a chef has come with many sacrifices, and some disappointments. But my experiences, has also allowed me to help people to see food in a different way, that allows change their eating habits, and better health.

Actual Foods, is the heart of these principals and strives to educate and provide exceptional services to all of our clients.

I’m not only the founder, but an employee, who thrives to uphold our standards.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would start the Itinerary with having lunch at Town Hearth, Nick Badovinus’ restaurant. Followed by a two hour shopping and sight seeing at the Galleria Mall. we would then take a ride down to, Down Town district areas of Dallas, and walk through Residential areas and parks to get the feel of the Metropolis City, Dallas has become.

The night events would start off with dinner at Glorias’, in South Lake. Followed by a drive to the Oak Cliff Arts district, for a cigar
bar, and several selections of trendy places that have become very popular in Dallas.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, Robert Greene, Author of “48 Laws of Power.” My mental strength comes from God and the mentors around me. One of my mentors is Robert Greene’s writing on understanding how to become a better leader. I’ve read all of his books and still work on the ‘Mastery’ of thinking, in every day of my life.
