We had the good fortune of connecting with Apollonia Keys Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Apollonia Keys, how does your business help the community?
When I started my business I was working heavily in the nightlife hospitality & entertainment industry. I had a passion for people and loved connecting them to one another when I identified synergies. There was something that really inspired me about this work, and that was being able to see people for who they were at their core. Despite some bad experiences (many I can’t even count) I never gave up on believing that people are good and hurting at the inside which is why they someitmes behave the way they do, and that this behavior is not personal but a reflection of what they believe about themselves.
As I evolved so did my business and although it was primary a personal branding lifestyle service I would later shift my purpose and the intention of my business to help people transform form the inside out.
My goal was no longer how to help build a popular cool brand but an authentic healed human. I now understood that my previous professional and personal experiences would lead to the overall support of how to educate on the importance of ones personal wellbeing and the responsibility for ourselves therefore implementing a new culture that we can practice in society, business and self.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
AMI Global Consulting – Is a lifestyle creation agency which was founded in 2009. Originaly offering fame route services for those seeking to increase their visibility in the media and attract a new audience through personal branding.
Since then the business has evolved just as I have. I run the company from Tulum, Mexico and advise corporate companies seeking to rebrand their company from the inside out by developing a healthy corporate culture and ethos through lifestyle wellness programming and training, I personally coach high performing CEO’s and speak at conferences on the importance of wellbeing in the corporate world.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Come join me in the land of Tulum, Mexico. The Cosmopolitan Jungle “Where dreams are made from” An activated land that carries a soul of ancient wisdom and magic where you can be, do and have what you desire.
I would take them to the pyramids of Tulum, the glammping of Libelula in Sian Khan to rest and star gaze, the local markets for fresh farm to table veggies and fruits, a curandera (a Mayan healer for some energy and spiritual healing) and “La Pizzine”, my personal favorite, an ethereal dreamscape wood fire pizza lounge that cultivates community, great music, art and dance in the heart of my neighborhood La Veleta – “the Brooklyn of Tulum”
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been blessed to have met some of my greatest teachers and mentors along this journey. Just like the “Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho ( a book I read many moons ago) I found that each and every message arrived when I needed it. The individuals who entered my life were the catalysts to pointing me in a new direction when I was “seeking”, leading me to new worlds that would open me up.
Some of these people were Jeffrey Kalt (Entrepreneur, Restauranteur) – Mentor, like a dad – but really my recruiter who would force me to accept a job offer that would be the beginning to a very successful career.
Jen Groover (Serial Entrepreneur, Branding Expert, Performance Coach, Speaker) – Mentor, friend, former client who would meet me invite me out for a coffee and then draw a chart of what she saw for me and my future showing me the possibilites of building a business based on being myself.
My nephew Ethan Martinez Patino (He’s 9 years old) for showing me unconditional love .
