Meet April Olshavsky | Customer Engagement

We had the good fortune of connecting with April Olshavsky and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi April, what matters most to you?
We value education. Every customer who comes through the door is treated like a “patient”. We listen to their concerns, assess their needs, and match them with products that can best help them.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We came into the cannabis industry as “patients” ourselves. It was definitely not easy. When we started, there were still a lot of bad stigmas surrounding the plant. Our business faced issues with banks, merchant processing, marketing platform discrimination, and had trouble finding landlords who would rent to us. On top of that, CBD was branching out as its own industry, so there was a lot of red tape we had to go through. All the while, plenty of legal changes happening on a local basis led us to tread through murky waters as we following the glimmering hope. We are driven to help match people with products that make theirs and their pets lives better.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We enjoy visiting Goldfield, not too far from our store. There, you can get a crash course in gold mining history, see interesting artifacts, shop, or even take a Jeep tour through the Superstition Mountain area. The Apache Trail Swap Meet is an interesting place to visit– It offers a real old-fashioned flea market experience with unique oddities, minerals and earth materials, and lots of local artisans and crafters. We also recommend visiting any one of the incredible local diners if you love comfort food, Wildberry Diner has a huge $6 cinnamon roll that takes up the whole plate. And finally, for the nature lovers, every visit to Phoenix must include a visit to the Butterfly Conservatory.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
“Jennybowstbest” – Jenny Anthony, my mother who has contributed a great deal of support to us at times when we needed it most. She is a talented crafter who makes decorative pieces to warm the home. She started making crafts as a way to deal with grief and to spread joy and beauty for others. The art therapy she has achieved from creating these centerpieces is a soothing way to address mental wellbeing. She has sold a few pieces to friends and family, I think she could use a little recognition.
