We had the good fortune of connecting with Ari Stant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ari, what makes you happy? Why?
I love fashion! Ever since I can remember I loved creating outfits that make me feel happy and excited for life. My experience with fashion started when I was very young. My grandma was a seamstress for bridal gowns and was always working on beautiful dresses and veils. She taught me to sew at a young age. When I learned to sew it was on a very old singer sewing machine, very old school. Then I would buy cute clothes and add on to them with different patterns and designs. To me making clothes brings me so much joy. I can look how I feel and that expression makes me feel overjoyed to be alive. As I grew older I knew I wanted to help people feel the same joy I felt from the clothes they wear. So I started to do personal styling for upcoming influencers, create outfits small business photoshoot’s, and people who wanted help on a new style for themselves. I tell people it’s not what you wear but how you wear it. Allowing them to know that the inside matters more but expressing yourself through your style can elevate how you feel. Helping others know they can look as good as the feel brings me joy and peace!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started professionally doing personal styling and image consulting a year and a half ago. The start up brought struggles just like any business. Simply because people don’t understand how useful and needed a personal style and aesthetic is these days. Unlike most personal stylist I take the time to look at each persons lifestyle, likes/dislikes, and take the time to get to understand who they are and who the want to be. Then I create a dream board of what they want and pieces that would set them apart to be more original. By getting to know them I can understand the outcome of what they want better. This has helped me learn from others and allowed me to hype others up in a way that’s different than most. Since what you wear is a reflection of who you are. I help people know that they can be something spectacular and great after I create a few pieces for them they can use their upgraded image to promote their dreams. I give people tools to help their new image blow up. Wether that be through social media, modeling, or whatever they will have the tools and guidance to create something big with my help.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love being around people and big crowds. On a night out, I definitely think I would have to take my friends to the Cobra Arcade in Phoenix, The Bottle Blonde in Scottsdale, or the Rough Rider speakeasy in downtown Phoenix. All of these places are super fun and lowkey for all the locals!!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank everyone who has ever inspired, supported, and pushed me. i want to thank God for my talents and availabilities to continue to do what I love. I want to thank my mom Lisa and younger sister Lana for allowing me to express myself fully without judgement to me. My sweet love, Weston for supporting my big dreams, always putting a smile on my face, and pushing me to continue be my best self . Without them I wouldn’t be were I am today!!! I would also like to thank everyone that have trusted me to help them create a style for them and the people who are going to continue to let me help them. To all of them I am deeply thankful!
