Meet Ashley Richards: Founder and CEO of E Squared Marketing

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Richards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My entire career was spent creating and developing marketing strategies, and I loved working for large organizations, but it was not until I got pregnant with my daughter that I realized I was not ready to leave my newborn at home and go back to an 8-5 job. I have always had a passion for marketing, and I knew there was a way to have the best of both worlds, so I created E Squared Marketing. The business itself is named after my two kids (Ellie & Eli) and empowering working moms that they can have a great working life that accommodates motherhood is still a huge mission for my company.
What should our readers know about your business?
E Squared Marketing is a dedicated team of marketing professionals who take your business’ goals and knock them out of the park. We bring a personal touch to everything we do–And we’re just as committed to having fun as we are to flawlessly executing results-driven marketing strategy. We are different than most digital agencies because our core belief is to empower and encourage one another. As a team of 11 women who are also moms, we are passionate about working hard, delivering great results fo our clients, but also empowering our home life as moms. We work together as a team on all of our projects, so you are not just hiring 1 marketing professional, but a team of 11 to create and execute your marketing needs.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As an Arizona Native, I can take any guest to some of my favorite local spots in Arizona! As far as restaurants, some of my favorites include Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill, S & V Urban Italian, and Salt + Lime Mexican Food. All 3 are locally owned, and have incredible menus! For experiences, I recommend heading to Sedona and hiking the Mt. Wilson Peak. It is one of the largest mountains in the area, so the sweat is worth the view. Finish off your trip to Sedona by stopping into Elote, a local mexican restaurant serving fresh mex that will not disappoint. Looking for entertainment? Depending on what time of year to head to the Valley, be sure to stop by the Phoenix Zoo, a Spring Training Game (once they are back in season after Covid) or the Wildlife World Zoo!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart. It requires a lot of time, motivation, encouragement and effort to really drive the needle forward and accomplish the goals you have always dreamed of. For me, as a mom of young kids, it was nearly impossible to accomplish what we have so far without the help and support of my incredible husband, Brandon. We truly work together as a team to raise our kids and his constant love and motivation was a big reason we are serving as many clients as we are today.
