We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Stewart and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
One thing that most outsiders of the organizer industry are probably not aware of is that there is a lot of mess before there is perfection. My followers on Instagram get to see all the highlights and IG worthy posts. But before we get to the finished product, there is a lot of ugly! We always tell clients things are going to look way worse before they look better. Part of our process is to take EVERYTHING OUT! So you can imagine our clients’s surprise when they see years of collecting in piles on the countertops and floors!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more? What sets you apart from others?
I think what sets O.C.D apart from other organizing companies is not only the value we provide our clients but the confidentiality. We work with many high profile professionals and families. We see a lot. We hear a lot. With every home we are in there is zero judgement. There is 100% confidentiality. I am so proud to have built this business based on trust. To date, O.C.D’s business is mostly from referrals. I think that speaks volumes for who we are.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a Phoenix native. Born and raised in North Central Phoenix, right down the street from where my mom grew up too! I lived in Tempe when I attended ASU (Go Devils!) and have lived in Scottsdale for the last 18 years. There are so many places in AZ to enjoy. And so many I haven’t even been to get. It has been interesting to witness the growth here. As an “adult” I’m now enjoying heading up North to Flagstaff as much as possible. I am really into good food and wine…doesn’t have to be fancy, just as long as it’s good. If you’re coming to AZ for a visit I would of course make it mandatory you have our Mexican food. There isn’t any like it in any state (or country) I’ve been to. Staple restaurants in town that are always good, reliable and consistent are AZ88, Durant’s, Houstons, Steak 44, Salt Cellar, Ajo Als, Pasta Brioni, Duck and Decanter, Richardson’s,
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
This is a great question! In my immediate family circle there isn’t anyone else who is organized as me. I really was just born this way! But one person who always kept a clean house and kitchen was my grandmother, and she taught me something I still say to myself and my son to this day: “Clean as you go!”
