We had the good fortune of connecting with Auzzy Blood and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Auzzy, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I choose to pursue an artistic career because I didn’t want to live a normal boring life creating a routine to live by and fall into day by day. After I began school to become a medical assistant I asked myself if I wanted to work for a doctor the rest of my life or film wanted to have an adventure. I chose the adventure mainly because I was inspired by another individual to start stepping outside my comfort zone and doing different things to push my own personal boundaries. Through doing this I began to inspire others to do the same and step outside their comfort zones no matter the boundaries placed before them especially the judgmental ones created by the social standards of today. Pursuing an artistic career allowed me to do something I love also while expanding my variety of skill sets from performing to marketing and even digital design.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I use a variety of different art styles to communicate my subjective experience to the world around me. One of those being performance of deadly Sideshow stunts. My entire motto is I’m here to show the world that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to and what better way to display that then with life endangering stunts that challenge the skill an ability of an individual, especially while performing said stunts in front of an audience where anything could go wrong. It’s been a challenge to learn these stunts and keeps them to myself since I’ve never had a mentor or any real guidance. That’s exactly why I use teaching myself these dangerous stunts as an example if you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. If I can teach myself how to swallow a sword in 10 months what can you do with your time when you really put your mind to it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being that I live in Las Vegas of course a trip to downtown Fremont Street is necessary, I really enjoy people watching down there plus there’s some delicious vegan joints like tacotarian or if you’re in the mood for pizza you have Evel pie that serves an amazing fully vegan pizza. Another one of my favorite places to take people is area 15, a giant Art Collective it features a meow wolf installation called Omega Mart. It has some of the craziest and most psychedelic art pieces ever and is a must-see when visiting Vegas. If the weather is permitting a hike out to the Gold Strike hot springs in the edge of Henderson near Boulder Dam is always a fun Excursion.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to recognize a gentleman named morgue, the creator of hyperianism. Reading his book The metaphorical suicide allowed me to develop the ability of self-awareness and a new level of mindfulness to be able to critical thinking and understand existence as a whole. His approach to philosophy and ontological Mathematics as greatly helped my ability to grow as an individual.
