Meet Aylin Montoya | Yoga Instructor, Sound Practitioner. Wellness & Mindfulness Guide

We had the good fortune of connecting with Aylin Montoya and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aylin, what do you want your legacy to be?
I want to be remembered for positively impacting the people in my life and my community through the practices that I have committed to sharing. I want people to know they do not have to suffer in silence and go through life alone. I aspire to show the world that there are many different modalities that can help them. In a world where we live in survival mode 24/7, I hope to be the person who can guide others into the present moment and back to their true self like these practices have brought me back home. I devote myself to be a vessel in the healing of others and create a nurturing safe space where compassion, understanding, and support converge to foster their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a certified 200 hour yoga teacher offering classes in the Phoenix and Tempe area. My teaching style focuses on gentle, mindful movements that allow students to connect with their breath and be more present with each asana. It is important for me to create a space where people are able to explore while finding the play between strength and flexibility, as they gain a greater understanding of alignment and balance between the mind and body. Currently, I teach at The Healing Tree in Tempe, and during the cooler months from October to March, I also offer classes at Yoga at The Park in Downtown Phoenix.
Additionally, I’ve deepened my expertise with advanced training in Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga. Teaching Restorative Yoga is a passion of mine as it guides individuals away from the daily grind of survival mode and into a space of surrender. This practice facilitates profound healing and relaxation. Over the past year, I’ve been co-collaborating with a local Reiki practitioner, combining Restorative Yoga with Reiki for a synergistic healing experience. You can find these classes at The Healing Tree in Tempe, AZ.
As a sound practitioner, I enjoy integrating sound healing into my yoga classes. Whether it’s playing a Tibetan bowl during savasana or combining crystal singing bowls with my yoga sessions, this immersive experience enriches the practice and cultivates inner harmony for my students.
Lastly, one thing I am most proud of is for taking the leap of faith of jumping into this journey that has brought me so much happiness, gratitude, and connection with so many beautiful souls.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Such a fun question! The beautiful red rocks (Sedona) is one of my favorite places to decompress and spend time with nature. Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park, the vortex and Oak Creek Canyon are my go to spots in Sedona.
Now as far as the city goes I love the botanical gardens because it truly showcases the desert life of Arizona. I also enjoy visiting the Butterfly Wonderland, if you LOVE butterflies like me make sure to check it out!!
And of course, I love going to check out the amazing plant shops in PHX! (The Plant Stand, Plant Bodega, Jungle Box, Summerwinds Nursery are my fav)
Also Downtown PHX is a vibe because there is so many variety of things to do, art murals, places to eat, yoga studios, and coffee shops to visit!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my parents for their severe hard work and journey to be in this country. They inspire me everyday to evolve into the best version of myself. I choose to do the work of healing the previous generations and the ones to come because of them. I also want to honor my amazing teachers who have helped me along this path tremendously and my community who supports and sees the light within me. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
