We had the good fortune of connecting with Beatrice Hervol and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beatrice, what do you attribute your success to?
My upbringing and survival of childhood abuse, being raised in foster care and aging out of foster care/group home system in Arizona I’d say is the most important factor behind my success thus far and my overall brand-Creating Casa Confidence with The Hervol Group-my life is a story of survival and redemption and although painful, I am thankful for what its taught me and how its influenced my life. Foster care in general I would say has a negative emotion with most people, but in my personal life-I believe it saved me. Its where I became a Christian and where I was exposed to a tremendous amount of love and opportunity.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a local mortgage lender with VIP Mortgage Inc. The Hervol Group serves families here locally in Arizona and in Montana.

I was introduced to the lending space after being in the New Home Sales space for over 15 years. I needed to make a change in my career due to growing my family from 3 to 4 :). My schedule needed a little more flexibility and staying in Real Estate was important to me as it was my first love.

I find it interesting how life plays out. We all have a story, and when we take the time to get to know one another, you learn what that story is and you’re able to see how oftentimes your career was influenced by your life journey. That certainly has been my case. I love real estate and lending. I love being able to educate and coach my clients in achieving their homeownership dreams. Owning a home is amazing, having property that builds you well is everything. But nothing is closer to my heart that working with a family who didn’t imagine this as a possibility and being able to help them directly in providing shelter, stability, confidence and self worth to their children. For many families, moving from one rental apartment to the next, keeps those kids from having the confidence to invite friends over to play. To grow friendships, to trust friends and build those trusted allies. I know this because that’s how I felt. When something is yours-you’re proud, you are confident and you know you can do anything. I love seeing this first hand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
-We would most likely check into the Phoenician or the Four Seasons -Schedule dinners at Stk 44, The Vig, Spiga, and Jalapeno Inferno, Blanco Tacos or Hillstone
-We would do some fun comedy shows
-Do lots of spa treatments
-Enjoy great breakfast places like the Henry and Hash-Kitchen and enjoy a Sunday Tea Time at the Phoenician.
-Visit the botanical garden, do some awesome hikes all around the valley

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This is incredibly easy for me because I truly believe that all of my life has been surrounded by the most amazing teacher. I have a strong and constant group of friends that believe in and remind me if there’s ever a time that I forget how far I’ve come and how much further yet I have to go.

In high school, I was introduced to Young Life. It’s a non denominational youth group that’s affiliated with High Schools in the valley. I had a friend from church-Natalie Evans invite me. She was a local leader and I was hooked. It was a simple way to learn about Christ and grow my faith. IT was life changing.

As an adult, when I entered the Real Estate world, Susan Hylands from Hyland Academy became my mentor. She influenced my life in so many positive ways; specifically growing into myself and believing in myself in the business world. She is the best of the best in the New Home-Builder circle, which is often a male dominant world. She stands out like a rock star while being a wife, mom and grandmother. She’s amazing and always poured into me and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

Lastly, I have a 6 year old daughter-Brinley Blake Hervol. Every day, I get to witness first hand how to overcome and deal with big emotions. My daughter is smart, caring, kind and a high achiever. She’s my beautiful girl and I know she’s going to contribute so much to this world. I am enjoying my first row seat. I love her confidence, her dedication to her friends and her love for her daddy and her baby brother. She is fiercely protective of her family and loves us deeply. I admire her because it brings me joy to see what a healthy household, a loving household provides for kids. As a 6 year old little girl myself, I grew up with lots of pain, uncertainty, lack of friends and low confidence. I had a lot of shame. My daughter doesn’t even know what those words mean in the context of family and home life. It is a beautiful thing.
