We had the good fortune of connecting with Beatrix Whilde and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beatrix, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I began taking black and white photos when I first traveled to the UK to visit family in 2018. It began as a hobby, that turned into a passion. From there, I began taking photos of friends during their performances, which I fell in love with because it captured them in their most vulnerable and joyous moments on stage. This led me to the decision that it was time for me to pursue photography seriously, with the hopes of giving and spreading that same joy to others.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of my decision to share my joy of acting and photography with the world by pursuing them both professionally. When you own your greatest loves and dreams and claim them for yourself, they, in a way claim you. Les Brown once said “You’ve got to stop operating off your memory of what has happened and start operating on what is possible,” so, saying goodbye to the familiar and trusting the spark inside of me to lead me down the path that will bring my art to life and allow me to share your gifts with the world is my act of bravery when I’ve faced those challenges that tired to convince me to remain the same because it’s safe. I’ve had to learn that you are the one who chains you to what you fear the most and you are the one who sets yourself free. I wouldn’t trade an ounce of sweat or the work it took to appreciate that lesson. WhildeOneStudios is a reflection of the life of abandon, trust and passion an artist must live to fully bring their art to life and I am excited for the next chapter.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First day, we have to hit Vito’s Tacos. They make the most delicious birria tacos, which are like the X- Men of tacos and that’s the only way to kick off a visit to Vegas. Then we would go see Ka from Cirque du Solei and the following morning would be mimosas at the pool, then the bacchanal brunch at Caesar’s Palace. Shopping on a vacation is a must so the Fashion Show Mall is perfect because it’s in the center of town and has pretty much everything you would need. The next day, more pool time in the morning, then going to an escape room in the afternoon because they’re awesome and we support our local actors. That night, we’d have to hit Yardhouse with a group of friends because they have the best drinks you can get anywhere and it’s a great local spot to enjoy drinks with friends. My personal favorite way to end my bff’s visit would be a road trip to Venice Beach in Cali for two days, where it be beer, waves and the board walk before heading back to Vegas.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother. She has always encouraged me to go out into the world and live life on my terms. Her example of courage, along with her unconditional love and support is what carry with me on this amazing journey. 1 in 3, mom.
