We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky Sanback and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Becky, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Several years ago I was feeling like I had stagnated in my career and wanted a change. My dream was to find a career that would give me the freedom, with regard to both finances and schedule, to give back to communities in need. Philanthropy would be my dream job! My inner voice was stuck on the idea that this did not exist and that it was an impossible dream. Who was I to find a career that would pay well AND give me flexibility? But about 5 years ago I decided to flip this thought from “I can’t…” to “how can I…” and that was my starting point. After taking the time to really think about what I loved about my career at the time and about my own interests, helping people and unique and historic architecture, the field of real estate started to emerge. I spoke with several friends in the business and learned more about the ups and downs and it sounded like the perfect challenge for me. I started school and the rest is history! I am now working with a brokerage that specializes in exactly what I love and I have found the right “home” for my business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I focus on guiding my clients through the process of finding and purchasing their home while making them feel valued, respected, and empowered through the process. My diverse professional and life experiences provide me with essential skills including negotiation, attention to detail, and communication. I am passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion and the principles of fair housing. My brokerage, azarchitecture/Jarson & Jarson, is the first real estate brokerage to specialize in the field of Architecturally Unique Homes and I have a passion for unique homes and properties in all price range. I work hard to uncover hidden gems for my clients.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Early morning hike to Dixie Peak or the Piestewa Loop, followed by brunch at Dick’s Hideaway. Visit the Desert botanical Gardens and don’t miss the garden boutique! Shop local at Windsor Square (Stinkweeds, Frances, Curious Nature, Local Nomad, etc.) Pick up dinner at Chula Uptown and enjoy a beautiful patio while grilling your “catch”. Next, hit up the South Mountain for a morning hike then breakfast at Bisbee Breakfast Club, followed by shopping or strolling in Downtown Mesa and then a concert at the Mesa Center for the Arts. Don’t forget to visit one of the many great bob tea shops in an around Mesa, Cha Boba, Boba Tree, Tea Sno, Mango Rabbit; so many good options! Hitting a rock gym like Phoenix Rock Gym to burn off that boba. Dinner at Chou’s Kitchen in Tempe.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Kristin Graziano is a friend and very successful Realtor and her giving nature and kind heart have made such an immense impact on my real estate journey.
Matt Buman was my supervisor in my former career and has provided me with so much support over the past several years, I have changed my life and could not have done it without his support, encouragement, and selflessness.
