We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Berger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
In my opinion thats a trick question. I personally live my life by not giving up. Here’s a very personal story, four years ago my father passed away very suddenly. Of course it shook my whole world to the core. There were days in which i did not want to get out of bed. But i always kept going. back to the thought of this , what would my dad say now if i chose to give up? I feel as though he would say Ben really you are giving up come now ! So i try to live my life these days with positivity and the drive to never give up.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Let me start out by saying you have to be a special ssort of person to want to be a creative. The amount of rejection and in most cases no clear communication of said rejection is unheard of. But someone has to do it. For myself i dont ever picture myself doing anything else. I am passionate about being an actor a writer and an artist. My passion first began when i was around three. I had my first taste of the entertainment industry in a print ad for Land Rover. But like any young kid i wanted a true childhood so i stopped professionally acting until around middle school where my spakr for entertaining others truly grew. From that spark up until today I have fed that fire everything from appearing in Television shows, Movies, Music Videos, Theater and so many other projects. As I got older I found my other love which is writing. Being able to come up with stories of love and laughter with characters I create is something i will cherish forever.

As long as i can remember I have always been a doodler, drawing whatever and whenever i could. A few months before Covid started i began to really get back into a style of Art i make called Intricate Abstract. All my pieces are hand drawn ink on canvas. One day i was working on a new piece at a coffee shop. This random person came up to me and started asking me about my art. One thing led to another and this person asked if they could buy my piece I was working on.Of course I said yes and thus I had sold my first piece of art. Being a creative is truly one of the toughest ways of making a living yet there is nothing else I would rather do.

Some fun Projects I have been a part of include, The Nickelodeon show Victorious, I was Mr. May in the 2019 Nice Jewish Guys calendar, I had a small part in the Showtime show SMILF and one commercial out of the many was a commercial where I played Majestic Merman.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Whatever city I am living in, I like to take friends and family to sports games if the town has a professional team if not then a college team. At this point I am more of a homebody but I do enjoy going to Great Restaurants .

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
This particular shoutout will go to the ones closest to me. Without my Family and Friends I would not be here. They are the ones who at the end of the day are the ones who are there for me! Although i do want to thank every friend of mine even if we only met once for a few moments out in the world. Through every connection we continue to grow our story. Just like no part is a small part , no connection is a meaningless one.
