We had the good fortune of connecting with Ben Lovrien and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ben, why did you pursue a creative career?
Being creative, and sharing my perspective through my work while impacting others lives in a positive way is what I feel I was put here to do. Pursuing this career path gives me the chance to leave my mark on the world, and change someone’s life for the better just through sharing what I love with other people.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My brand is more of a community, that was created through my filming. I’m very proud to say we’ve grown from zero to nearly ten thousand people in a couple of years, and I’m looking forward to many more. Furthermore, over a million people have seen my work. To this day I still don’t really know how to put a label on what I do, and how I got to this point is a very long and difficult story. It was, still is, and always will be a very difficult mountain to climb, and there is no peak to summit. It’s never been easy, but that’s what I enjoy so much about it, is that there are constant lessons to be learned, and growth to be had. To put what I do personally at face value, I film myself messing with cars, and my journey through life. Only recently has it grown into a community, and a business. But if there’s anything to learn or take away from it all, it’s that if you’re going to bet on anything, bet on yourself, and have faith in yourself even if sometimes you don’t believe. Keep your head up, pursue your passion, and stay Driven. That’s how I got to the point I’m at right now, and I only plan to keep going. You never know what your life might become, who you might meet, or the things you might accomplish until you take the first step.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well, this is a very real, and regular scenario for me haha. If I was planning a whole week to do as much as we could, besides going to Sedona, and hiking in the mountains, I’d actually take my friends to a lot of the local places around the city! Start the day with breakfast in Scottsdale, maybe at Breakfast Club. Then hanging out around Tempe marketplace, catch a movie, or go to the Scottsdale fashion square. I’d do anything food related in the city, for sure dinner at Social Hall, then drinks at Say When. Then maybe end the night with some ice cream from churn. Of course this is if we were going all out, and I’ve only been here for a short amount of time, but that’s what I’d do with what I know so far, I’m sure I’ll find more fun stuff to do soon enough too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
While I have put countless hours into doing what I do, in order to become successful, there are many people I’d have to thank for making me who I am today. However there is one person who has helped me since the beginning, and as cliché as it sounds, that person would have to be my mom. She’s always told me since I was a kid that if I wanted something, I’d have to work for it because nobody’s going to hand you anything in life. Mix that with the mental toughness I got from one of my highschool coaches and I don’t feel there’s anything I can’t overcome. If I want it, I plan for it, I assess what it might take to get there, then I try my best to go get it, and I owe the credit of building that mindset to them.
