Meet Benjamin Bleich | Rapper

We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin Bleich and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Benjamin, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was young I’ve always been creative. My parents are both creatives, my mom is an artist and my father is a musician, creativity runs in my blood. I use music as an outlet to cope with my depression and anxiety, I found being creative helps to distract from my pain and trauma..
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is my unique sound. Most rappers these days all sound alike or sound very similar, it’s normal to be influenced by your predecessors but there’s a difference between taking inspiration from somebody else and adapting it your craft and stealing somebody’s flow or style entirely. I’m most proud of my ability to be vulnerable when talking about real life problems I face, that’s what makes my music so relatable. I’ve gotten to where I am through hard work and consistency, although I’m not where I want to be yet I know my day will come eventually. Nothing in life is easy, I’ve had to overcome many obstacles in life, from battling addiction, losing friends to drugs and violence, and growing up in poverty, I’ve learned how to adapt to my environment. I want the world to know that I don’t make music for money or recognition, I make music to help people who are struggling with similar problems to let them know they’re not alone.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in Cleveland Ohio, but when I lived in Tucson I used to love going to local farmers markets to check out the culture and art. A fun day in Tucson would consist of eating some tasty Mexican food, checking out some of the local art gallery’s and thrift shops, and driving up to the mountain for some nice site seeing.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to give a shout-out to my mom, she’s always been there for me and supported me following my dreams.
