We had the good fortune of connecting with Billy Economics In Comics and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Billy, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I do not think there is just one factor, it is definitely a combination of a few. Connection: Connecting with my audience is very important. I am 100% genuine with them. Allowing them to come in to my world and life and showing them who I am. I want a personal connection with my subscribers. Information: Knowledge is power. In my business information is king. I put everything I have into providing this information early to my subscribers so they can reap the benefits. They can use this information both to save money and make money. Laughter: I love to entertain. I want them to have a fun experience when watching me. I want them to say, “What will he do next?” Or “I cannot wait until tomorrow’s show!” Drive: I want to be the best at what I do. Thankfully, I love what I do which makes it that much easier!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I have had many jobs over the years, and worked for many people. I always knew I wanted to be my own boss. There was a breaking point that changed everything. I had lost a great job and decided to go get my real estate license. While getting my license I had made the decision I would never work for anyone again! No matter what happened, I would do it myself. I decided to take my knowledge gained in the business world and apply it to my hobby. That hobby was collecting comic books. In the last 10 years the comic book industry has boomed do to the gigantic presence in the movie entertainment industry. The comic book world has turned into a stock market of sorts. New and Old Comics skyrocketing in price. I took to YouTube and created a channel called “Economics In Comics” where I apply my knowledge of the industry, business, and speculation all in one. My goal was to save and make people money! I provide information to my subscribers to buy early at cost on specific comics, OR, to sell at the right time and make money. I now have 1000’s of subscribers and have access to so many things in the comic book industry. I have made incredible connections and partnerships with publishers, artists, and comic book related companies which I use and bring to my audience. Whether it be discounts on products or great live interviews with top artists and writers in the industry. It is truly a labor of love.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, let’s pretend a global pandemic wasn’t currently happening and it was at the perfect time. I would love to take my friend to his or her first Phoenix Comic Convention In the summer. It doesn’t matter if you are a comic lover or not, this event is so much fun. The people watching, artists, entertainment, shopping is the greatest. Then maybe a walk down Tempe town lake or Old Town Scottsdale. And finish off with a great dinner at Cafe Mix (The Best Greek Food) located in Mesa.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shoutout is to my supporters (subscribers). Without their support the channel would be nothing. Their love and commitment means more to me than anything else. They drive me to do better! I love and cherish the relationships I have made and continue to make every day. They are the reason I do what I do.
